what do we still need for this month?

I am nearly done with my 600+ book chain of thorns. My next book has a default book page count over 500 but alas the kindle edition I have is only 444

So read what you would like :) it’s all good for points!! We do need some “U”s for the spell it out if you happen to have any. Colour covers are always useful.

I was looking through my books and found an Ursula LeGuin book I never read - I'll go ahead and read that one for one of the U-s. The U-s are difficult to find!

I mentioned it earlier, but just want to check that my 600+ books are not being included in the count for this month as I will be completing them over the course of the three months.

Thanks Emma. Louise has a few that she thought she would finish so I think we will be ok to meet the requirements. I also started another 600+ today just in case it is needed.

Yes those U are proving tricky. I haven’t had a single U character yet even though I keep looking! Good idea with Ursula LeGuin.
I do have The Unfortunate Side Effects of Heartbreak and Magic from Netgalley so I’ll put that on my list for June

For those that enjoy historical fiction, Bernard Cornwell's The Saxon Stories have a U MC.

I’ve never read anything by Cornwell. It looks like it’s time I picked one up!

Happy Sunday everyone. It's a sunny bank holiday weekend here and a chance to get some outdoor chores done and get some reading in.

I'm a Cornwell fan, have been for some 20 years now, so I'm biased LOL.

For those who like the Arthurian legend, he also has an Arthur trilogy, that also has some U characters (two come to mind). And it's a shorter commitment than The Saxon Stories

I've got a question, which might be silly: for non-fiction books, do we consider the portrayed people to be characters?

Depends on the non fiction! For NF that is more like a story (usually memoirs like Eat, Pray, Love) then the people are more like characters and can be used. Whereas a traditional NF stating facts and information we wouldn’t use the people mentioned as characters

So, I'm currently reading The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny and Murder (it's 20MB and I need to free up space in my poor Kindle LOL). While it's not a memoir, it's also not just facts facts facts. I'll leave it up to the captains to decide whether or not this could be used for characters or not :)

Trying to add my books, but Goodreads is just annoying. It keeps loading. I'm going to try finishing 'Dragon and Soldier' before the end of this month.

If You Tell: a True Story of Murder, Family Secrets, and the Unbreakable Bond of Sisterhood can be used for the bookshelf of Laura. She has read that book too.
