Ashlyn | 5987 comments I probably won't be able to read much this week and can't read anything from the Rivers list. But I have a book that works for Yield, so I'll work on that this week.

Speedbump and switchback tasks have been revealed - sorry for taking so long. Had a lot of things planned this weekend and just found the time to do this.

Vanessa Gayle ⚔️ Fangirl Faction (fangirlfaction) | 2928 comments I think that I am going to go with black cover or bird on cover this week.

This round will cover seven (7) days.

Start: April 22nd at 12:00 AM (in your time zone)
End: April 28th at 11:59 PM (in your time zone)

Please check in on April 28th between 4:00 - 6:00 PM Eastern. This doesn’t mean you can stop reading for the round, it’s just the team checking in for bonus points.

Route Info: These will be generally easy tasks to complete for each leg of the race. This portion will have at least 15-20 tasks per leg. All repeatable.
1. Read a book set in India
2. Read a book with a orange cover
3. Read a book with a white cover
4. Read a book with a green cover
5. Read a book with a wheel on the cover
6. Read a book set South Asia
7. Read a book from an author that is from or currently lives in India
8. Read a book that has been tagged 'Spiritual' at least 10 times
9. Read a book with the word 'RELIGION' found in text (pg/% & quote)
10. Read a book that was made into a movie
11. Read a book where the title has the letters M, U, M, B, A, I in it (in any order)
12. Read a book where the author's first and last initial are in REPUBLIC
13. Read a book where the main characters first name starts with a letter in HOLI
14. Read a book that is set in the forest
15. Read a book where the series title has the letters R, U, P, E, E in it (in any order)

Detours: This will be a list related task. Teams will have two lists to choose from and will need to read 5 books from one list. This can be completed by at least two people from a team (one person cannot complete this task).

In the early medieval era, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, and Zoroastrianism became established on India's southern and western coasts.

Read a book found on the Good Vs Evil Books or Muslims Represented in Literature listopia

Roadblocks begin at line #225 on the spreadsheet tab. There’s about 6 spell-outs available - please let me know if you need more.

Roadblocks: This will be a spell-out task. Each team will get the same word. It can be completed as many times as you can. If you start a spell-out and don't complete it, you will be penalized by 5 bonus points per uncompleted word.
NEW DELHI: ✤ NEW DELHI
New Delhi is the capital of India and a part of the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCT). New Delhi is the seat of all three branches of the Government of India, hosting the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Sansad Bhavan, and the Supreme Court.

Yield: Each team will have up to 3 yield opportunities (once per month). After the task has been revealed and read for, the team will then decide who to use their 'Yield' against. By yielding, you will be taking away 20 bonus points from that team.

Modern humans arrived on the Indian subcontinent from Africa no later than 55,000 years ago. Their long occupation, initially in varying forms of isolation as hunter-gatherers, has made the region highly diverse, second only to Africa in human genetic diversity.
If you want to use your yield this week - please read for the following:

Read a book that has the word 'GENETIC(S)' found in text (pg/% & quote) and has the word 'DIVERSITY' found in text (pg/% & quote)

Intersections: This will be a buddy read related task. Meaning you will have to work with someone new (whether on your team or another) and read a book together. The buddy can also be someone in the group but not participating in the challenge. You will need to have at least 4-5 comments per buddy read.

Read a book with someone new within the group. BOTM can also count for this task. This can be repeatable.

U-Turns: Just like the yield task, each team will have up to 3 U-turn opportunities (once per month). After the task has been revealed and read for, the team will then decide who to use their 'U-turn' against. By forcing another team into a U-turn, you will be taking away 10 bonus points from that team.

From being a comparatively destitute country in 1951, India has become a fast-growing major economy and a hub for information technology services, with an expanding middle class. It has a space program which includes several planned or completed extraterrestrial missions. Indian movies, music, and spiritual teachings play an increasing role in global culture.
If you want to use your U-turn this week - please read for the following:

Read a book set in space and has a character than can sing or play a musical instrument

Speed Bumps: After check-in day, if your team was randomly selected for last place, you will have this task to complete. It will be a super easy task that one person can complete. For example, 'Red hair on cover (any book edition will count)' or 'Published in January (any year)'.

Read a book from the Festival Books list

Switchback: This will also be revealed after check-in days and will be a task related to where the team was previously.

Independence Day in Uganda is a state holiday celebrated on October 9 every year. It celebrates Uganda's independence from the United Kingdom in 1962.

Read a book that features a holiday

Melissa (servina) I'm so sorry! This week has been a nightmare, this month actually. I have not done nearly enough reading. Next week will start getting better. I'm in accounting so tax season is finally over, but I'm playing catch up. (I listen to books at work) and I've got some new clients that took more brain power lol

I can find a detour book if another book is needed for that. I only see one on the spreadsheet so I'll go ahead and plan that.
