Summer Song Challenge:
This challenge may or may not seem a little bit familiar to you all. We first introduced this back in June 2020 as a quarterly challenge. Filled with a bunch of fun summer songs that you were all itching to complete.

Just like the quarterly challenge, each team will try to fully ‘sing’ their song by the end of the challenge. In order to sing your team's given song, you will use titles, series titles and author names to spell out words in the song. You can also use one whole word in a title to sing your song.

For example:

If your team got “All Summer Long” by Kid Rock, there is a line in it that says “singing sweet home Alabama all summer long”

Boys of Alabama could be used for the entire word “Alabama”.

This same book could be used for the word ‘man’ in the line “caught somewhere between a boy and man” because there is an M, an A and an N in the title/author name.

Each book must spell out an entire word. You cannot use one book for the letters SUMM in summer and then use a second book for the ER.

Teams will be given the first four lines of their song to complete. And for every one of the lines that are finished your team will be able to work on the next line in the song. (lines do not need to be completed in order. But lines that you are given will go in order)

Once a team completes their song, they will be given a new one and start the process all over again.

How to complete a word:
1. Use the letters (or words) within a book title (any edition works)
2. Use the letters (or words) within a series title (any edition works)
3. Use the letters of an author's first, middle and/or last name.
4. Find the word in text (pg/% & quote)

One book PER word.

This will be a team reading challenge, which will run from June 1st to July 31st. Winners will be announced on August 1st.

Teams will be split as evenly as possible. If you would like to be on the same team with anyone, please comment with who when signing up. Please make sure that they also sign up.

When signing up, please mention the number of books you plan on reading for the month of June. These numbers will be easier for me to make teams match up evenly.

Felicia - 10 bpm
Andy - 20 bpm
Aly - 50 bpm
Jennifer - 25 bpm

* bpm = books per month
** You will not be penalized if you go over or under your number.**

51 - 99 pages → 0.5 pts
100 - 149 pages → 1 pt
150 - 249 pages → 2 pts
250 - 349 pages → 3 pts
350 - 449 pages → 4 pts
450 - 549 pages → 5 pts
550 - 649 pages → 6 pts
650 - 749 pages → 7 pts
750 - 849 pages → 8 pts
850 - 949 pages → 9 pts
950+ pages → 10 pts

Buddy Reads will DOUBLE your points.
BOTM will TRIPLE your points.
