I am one of the NBRC Mods and I have been assigned as the "mentor" for the green teams (Jade, Emerald and Malachite) which means I'm here to help out your captain and check your weekly submissions.

For those who didn't play the first wheelathon, a tip from me is that the "tougher" letters to spell were E,N,Y,I so keep an eye out for books that may count for these letters.

Your team spreadsheet has been set up for you to allocate your books and points. You may also want to set up a tracking spreadsheet to help you track all the different options for your books. I've done one for Malachite here ; if you'd like one set up for you just let me know. Stormie, I'll also need you email you use for google docs to give you edit rights.

Hi team! I see some familiar names! I am excited about this challenge and hoping this gets me back into reading. I was doing great in January and then only read one book in Feb. Hope to read more than that in March.

Hi, everyone! So happy to be here! I can't remember when this officially starts. I'm reading a book with a character that starts with L, or I can read one with an author who starts with L. I haven't checked what other letters I can cover just yet. Anyway, excited to play another round and looking forward to reading with you all!

The challenge starts on March 22. The rules are listed here:

"Only books read during the specified week can be used (“read date” is what counts, not the day you start.) Books cannot be “banked” from previous weeks to use later in the challenge"

Our first word is LICORICE, so any of those letters count for the first week that starts March 22. :)

Hey team!! I'm excited to start this challenge. I missed the last Wheelathon start, but got to come in later as an alternate.

I'm going to look for books that would work for the tougher letters so I have them ready. Woohoo

You have color cheatsheet in your spreadsheets in case you are not sure. :)

We can START our week 1 (Licorice) books now but hold off on finishing them until the challenge begins. This is pretty much the only time we can do that for this challenge. It's a good strategy and I know other teams are doing it. Once the next rounds begin, we can't do it.

I'm not sure if I'm going to do that myself just because the books I am currently reading, I need for other team challenges I'm on in other groups, and I need to finish them ASAP. We'll see how my reading goes the next couple of days. Challenge is just 3 days away, practically!

Ugh I'm having such a hard time finding O and I books.

Once i finish my current read I will look at the books I have scheduled to start to see if they will fit a letter.

No, I fill that out. :) You just report what you have read. :)
You can post your book/s read, the letter you are using and how it qualifies: title, author, character, etc. :)

Starting on the 22nd, anything that has been finished starting that date, I will update the spreadsheets daily. :)

I am in the Pacific Time Zone, so I will try to have the sheets updated by 11pm and then on earlier on the days I have to submit to the moderators. :)

The moderators have chosen a color for us, and this week it is LICORICE...

How a "spell it out" works
Spell out the word(s) using the first letter in the book's title, the first letter in the author's first or last name, or the first letter of a character's first, last, or nick-name, or the first letter of the series name. As always, if the first letter of a title starts with an indefinite or definite article ('A', 'An', 'The', etc.), you may use the first letter of the second word in the title to spell out your chosen word. If you are listening to an audiobook, the first letter in the narrator's first or last name also can be used.

If you look at some of the previous posts, that should give you an idea of how it works. Starting on March 22, what you finish reading is what counts. :)

Just wanted to see how you are doing? Are we ready for the challenge? It starts in a little over 5 hours in Australia!

As I stated earlier, I will update each night by 11 PM, however, I have to have week tallies in by 6PM on Saturdays...I am on the West Coast/Pacific Time, so in order to make sure that you have books counted for the week, please make sure they are in before then, at least by an hour. I don't want to submit them late and not have our books for the week count.

I am excited to get this underway as well, I will be going through my books today and getting my list ready. :)
