Hey guys we are really sorry but Joely, Ash, and I had a lot going on the last few weeks so we are a little late for the book of the month.
So we are just going to keep the book through August to give everyone time to read it and have a chance to talk about it :)

I thought that this book had a decent premise, but one of my biggest book pet peeves is the uncreative use of literary allusions. The beginning screamed Cinderella to me, so I checked out almost immediately. I still gave it a chance because I really enjoy dark fantasy, but I unfortunately never got excited about it after that and ultimately dnf.

I think the setting was cool and gave me Sleepy Hollow vibes, but overall the plot was slow. The main characters were meh. I might give the sequel a chance when it comes out, but we’ll see.
