Would you rather never again be able to read any new-to-you books OR never again be able to reread any books? Please tell us why.

I guess I'd rather never again re-read - there are SO many incredible new books constantly being published - but it would be very, very difficult to give up some of my favorite comfort reads!

I would also have to learn to slow down and pay more attention because I often miss things that I catch upon re-reading.

Everything Shel said, plus I find rereading essential when continuing a series. Depending on the time between installments (or when I left off), I opt to restart - a choice that happens more often than not.

If either of the scenarios were in play, I might actually stop reading altogether - which would be a tragic blow to my quality of life.

Random (rand0m1s) | 1249 comments Well as I mentioned in the previous question, I did join Goodreads to help minimize rereads.

So, I would have to say I would have to choose never rereading again and go for purely new books.

But it would hurt :)

Leserling Belana (vorleser) | 105 comments I‘m with all the above. There are only a few books I reread anyway, so if I had to choose I’d rather read new books.

Since I rarely reread, I would give that up in order to read books I’d never read before.

Paula S (paula_s) | 1 comments Reading only new books stresses me out, rereads are comfortable and I feel like I need to read something multiple times to really know it. I've probably read enough books by now to be able to just reread for the rest of my life without having to repeat books too often. I'd hate not being able to finish series I started where I have books left to read though.

I've been pondering this, and you actually have my thoughts down almost exactly. Thank you!
