We have about a week left til our October 2023 readathon. Let's ramp up our reading a bit over the next week with a long lap, aka long reading sprints.

Option 1: Set a time goal for the next week (24hrs, 48hrs, etc.) and keep track of your reading time over this week.
Option 2: Set a page goal for the next week, and track the number of pages you finish over this week.
Option 3: Set a # of Books goal and try to finish that many books during the next week.
Option 4: Create a TBR for the next week and see how many of the books on your TBR you can finish.

Post your goal(s) and progress on social media and/or in this Goodreads group.

Cathy (cathepsut) | 567 comments I‘m confused—the readathon is on the 21st, right? That‘s in 8 days, a little over one week, not two?

correct. It's October 21, starting at 8:00 AM Eastern Time. She probably planned to post that sooner than she did and forgot to change it. That's my guess anyhow.

Yep. Thanks for catching that.

Liander (The Towering Pile) Lavoie (liannelavoie) | 281 comments I have way too many books in progress right now, and would love to shrink that list a little before the read-a-thon, but we'll see lol.

So I'll be focusing on these current reads this week:

The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd (audiobook)
L'héritage Maudit by Heather Graham (French ebook)
Haunted Canada 9: Scary True Stories by Joel A. Sutherland (almost done)
Under Heaven by Guy Gavriel Kay
Pierre and Jean by Guy de Maupassant (ebook)
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Clarissa, or, the History of a Young Lady by Samuel Richardson (ebook)
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo (ebook)
Complete Stories and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe

Also, I have this overdue library book I want to read and return as soon as possible:

Saga, Volume 10 by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples

UPDATES:
16 October - finished Haunted Canada 9, read 10ish pages of Pierre and Jean, listened to a bit of The Cartographers, and read 6 pages of Under Heaven.
17 October - read 21 pages of Under Heaven.
18 October - read 7 pages of Under Heaven and listened to about 45 minutes of The Cartographers.
19 and 20 October - read a combined 9 pages of Under Heaven and listened to about an hour and 15 minutes of The Cartographers.

Not a very impressive week lol. Oh well! All current reads are set aside for the read-a-thon. Since I didn't get to Saga, it's been added to my read-a-thon pile.
