Nicolas Harrison (nharrison) | 2 comments Hi, my name is Nicolas Harrison

I wrote a YA Fantasy Book based on Greek Mythology. I hope you like it.

Plot:

Friday Walker lives a simple life in Washington DC with his guardian Donna and her friend Krystal. Unfortunately, fate throws him into New Hellas, a world where Graeco-Roman myths and legends are true. In this new world, which is distrustful of those from the "Iron-World" like him, the only way he can return home is to embark on a dangerous quest across an unfamiliar landscape filled with gods and monsters. He is accompanied by a clay-born girl and a dangerous but majestic manticore. However, unknown to them, something greater is lurking in the shadows that can destroy both their worlds.

Rita Chapman | 7 comments Rita Lee Chapman here. I wrote a YA book for horse-mad readers

Winston – A Horse’s Tale
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

One for horse lovers from teenagers upwards! Winston is a good-looking palomino horse whose life involves several different owners and many adventures. As you read his story, told by Winston himself, you will appreciate horse ownership from the horse’s point of view. Born on a country property in Australia, Winston tells of his breaking-in and education and the different people he encounters – good, bad and ignorant. As well as his own story, Winston includes the experiences of other horses he meets along life’s way.

Whether it’s jumping, eventing, hunting or just hacking, Winston tries hard to please his rider. Follow his successes and his failures from his breaking-in to his show jumping win. It is an eventful life – the story of one Australian horse out of thousands, but one that you will remember.

B. Goodwin | 63 comments My newest book, Disrupted, launched yesterday. I think it’s good, and I hope you do too.

Q: What happens when an earthquake shuts down the local high school and Sandee Mason is faced with both physical and emotional shakeups? Here’s a brief summary:

Sandee Mason loves stage-managing, which gives her the importance she’s craved since her brother died in Afghanistan. When a 7.1 earthquake erupts, and two of the school’s wings slide off their foundations, classes and activities are canceled. Sandee is now coping with the emotional earthquake that erupted when her brother was killed in Afghanistan 6 months ago and the physical earthquake that ransacked her town. Will the fall play go up even though the campus is closed, her best friend moves away, and a new boy breaks more promises than he keeps?

You can order it at https://www.amazon.com/Disrupted-B-Ly....

I’d be honored and grateful. Would you do that for a fellow reader and writer?

A.L. Sirois (alsirois) | 4 comments I'm A.L. Sirois, but you can call me Al. :-). My forthcoming YA book, MURDER IN MENNEFER, from Fitzroy Books (division of Regal House), is coming out on June 18th of 2024.

Here's part of what Small Press Picks said about it: "The title Murder in Mennefer may call to mind an Agatha Christie mystery, and though there is a Hercule Poirot-like figure in the book, this is not a mystery in the sense of Death on the Nile. Murder in Mennefer is more of a coming-of-age adventure. There’s even a love interest, the baker’s daughter. Sirois deftly balances these various strands. He is having some fun in this novel aimed at young adults, and he’s inviting us along. I’m on board, and you should be, too, whatever your age. It’s a terrific ride." (The full review is here: https://smallpresspicks.com/murder-in...)

Jonathan Maberry, NY Times bestselling author of ROT & RUIN and MARS ONE, said this: "Murder in Mennefer is a wonderfully weird and devious novel! Great characters, lots of surprising twists, and a new take on ancient history! Readers will absolutely love this!"

Raven Fenix-Porter | 1 comments Thank you so much! Raven Fenix-Porter here. I recently published my debut novel “Quest of Despair” link here:

https://amzn.eu/d/3vnzhhH

I absolutely adore my novel and hope you will too and bring it out of its obscurity!

It has imaginative characters like in "His Dark Materials" to a journey like "The Neverending Story". It’s enriching like “The Alchemist” (I hope!) and yet the story is completely different to all the above as it is about a privileged teen who has everything but cannot appreciate it. To losing it all when trapped in a parallel timeline where a clash between Archs and RayCrests (an angels and demons theme) lead him to some extreme decisions. It has romance. In a realistic way. Ultimately, it’s a YA fantasy novel that thoroughly explores the coming-of-age theme about self-discovery and the power of growing up.

Beverly Patt | 2 comments Hi All!
More Than a Thief
My YA historical mystery came out this August and has a 4.9 rating on amazon and 4.7 on goodreads!
Here's the scoop:
In 1892, in the bustling town of Fall River, Massachusetts, 16-year-old Victoria feels trapped by her high-society, pre-debutante life. Not only is she forced to have a chaperone for anything outside of the house, but she is also stuck playing nursemaid to her mother suffering from an unexplained paralysis. Victoria's only escapes are visits with her neighbor Miss Lizzie Borden, reading Sherlock Holmes serials and—when the urge overtakes her—stealing.

When her next-door neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Borden are murdered and Lizzie is accused of committing the acts, Victoria begins crossing paths with apprentice detective Declan Dempsey as they both search for the truth. Victoria doesn't want to believe that Lizzie committed those murders. Because if her friend has a dark side, what does that mean for Victoria with her own sordid secret?

When Victoria discovers Lizzie also shares her penchant for stealing, Victoria swears off her secret habit for good. In her quest to not become Lizzie Borden, Victoria loses old friends, makes questionable new ones, and finds her fiercest enemy resides within her own skin.

"A twist on the enduring real-life mystery surrounding suspected murderer Lizzie Borden...An engaging drama with an appealing protagonist." - Kirkus

"A sure-footed page-turner that readers of historical mysteries will love." - Publisher's Weekly

"The writing is crisp and humorous and makes you feel the tension of Victoria being found out. Is Lizzie Borden guilty? Will Victoria overcome all to become her own woman? Read on, Mr. Watson." - Historical Novel Society

Enjoy! More Than a Thief

Erik Swanson (eas94) | 4 comments Hello,

Erik Swanson here. I will be running a free e-book promotion for my Tales of Alandria series of books from Monday, April 15th till midnight on Friday, April 19th on Amazon. This will be for the first two installments “Tales of Alandria Bridging of Worlds” and “Tales of Alandria Descent of Knights”. Both books take place within the world of Alandria.

In the first installment the eastern kingdoms of the western continent are locked in a state of civil war that was started by Thane Ethamec and aided by the Dark Lord Lufarian, but the rebellion is crushed by the combined forces of Narivangia and Romir lead by Prince Hithúrian and his cohorts nearly at the cost of his own life. Alongside that plot, an orphaned farmer Iragnar and his cousin John struggle to keep their farm afloat in his uncle’s absence with being called to war as a greedy sheriff takes advantage of the conflict for his own benefit. With the rebellion crushed, Lufarian then schemes of another way to bring the world under his heel with opening an ancient portal. Outside of the dimension Alandria is in, a futuristic power, the Anurian Republic, attempts to develop technology to extend itself through the multiverse. All will come narrowing down to the end. New allies and enemies will be made, people of different classes will band together and form an unlikely bond, and a kingdom will fall.

In the second installment the world of Alandria is under siege by the Dark Lord and his new allies, the Anurians. Many lands have been taken in the past months. The kingdoms of Narivangia and Romir fight on to ward off being dominated by the futuristic forces. The Magi Brotherhood and Knights of Eremor ride to King Horus’s request for aid in defending the eastern border of Romir. King Hithúrian and John Calamir come to King Horus and Princess Alania whilst they evacuate Oathera. The two kings ride to the west to consolidate a new plan in combating the overwhelming forces of the Dark Lord. Little do they know Captain Drizeppi and his squads pursue them across the lands with intent on capturing them. Behind the threat of an oncoming invasion of the Dark Lord’s forces, treacheries will be revealed. Off to the western mountainous regions, Iragnar Calamir trains in the Magi’s Apprentice Guild at the Amonfort. Iragnar discovers new friends amongst the apprentices and Elders there. Aramor watches the boy’s studies and training, taking him under his wing to be his only apprentice.

Ian Mitchell-Gill | 10 comments Hello! I wrote a book that is getting some very positive reviews and it is great fun to read.

It is titled, MEDUSA'S SON and it takes the vampire genre and does something that has never been done before. It technically counts as YA Dark Fantasy, but yes ... our old friends the vampires are present. So if you are DYING for a VAMPIRE BOOK TO SINK YOUR TEETH INTO ... THIS IS IT!

Here is the blurb on the back of the book:

Imagine living your whole life without knowing who you really are. Walt Baranov is barely old enough to enter the Russian nightclub, where he has an unfortunate encounter with a beautiful vampire. The shocking events after he is bitten start a maelstrom that engulfs the entire world.

The powers that be move on his discovery, and Walt finds himself confined to a state-of-the-art laboratory. Understanding his extraordinary biology is the key to eradicating vampires all over the world. He makes a connection with a lab subject and will do anything to save her from certain death. Walt sees her humanity when nobody else can. Not helping matters are the vampires of the world who are frantic to find and eliminate the young man named in their prophecy of doom.

Walt must outmaneuver the Russians, Americans, vampires, and even the Yakuza to save the young woman who has come to mean so much to him. It all comes down to a deadly showdown between monsters and military forces in the beautiful Alps of Japan. The outcome is one that could not be predicted, and the vampires have a new nemesis to fear.

The tale of Medusa’s Son is one of mystery, adventure, suspense, and more than a few surprises. Join Walt on his journey to find out who he is and how to undo the chaos his discovery has caused.

Federica Raguseo Hi! It's Federica Raguseo here! (or Dr Federica Raguseo because for some reason Goodreads is unable to remove the title from some of my books?)

Anyways, a few years back I wrote a retelling or Ariel's story and now I finally got around to edit it, illustrate and publish it. So if you like fantasy, mermaids, myths, adventure and witty sarcastic conversations between characters ... this is the one for you. Anyways - here's the synopsis:

Ariel never wanted to be a saviour. She never wanted to be charged with the destiny of the merpeople. But Ariel's fate had been sealed since the moment she was born, last of seven sisters in a dying kingdom. Her colourful tail marked her as unique, her beauty as an asset to be desired. But her true power was that of curiosity. She had always been fascinated by the humans above, the species that was ravaging her lands and murdering innocents in the Kingdom of the Undersea. She did not believe them all evil and was willing to risk her own life to find peace and stop the war. When her childhood friend Helios is drafted for an impossible mission to save the merpeople, Ariel springs into action by making a risky deal with the Sea Witch.

As she ventures into unknown lands, Ariel faces daunting challenges. Can she find humans who will aid her quest for peace? Will she unravel the truths concealed from her people? And most importantly, can she save her sisters and friends before it's too late?

I also have a new release on the horizon titled Woven Song. It is available for pre-order on both Amazon and B&N.

I often write about found family, grief/loss, with morally gray characters. Both my trilogy and upcoming release could be described as coming-of-age stories that are on the darker side.

Carissa (carissaanneauthor) | 1 comments Hey y'all! My name is Carissa Anne, and my debut book came out just this month. It's a YA fantasy titled Rising Warrior, and is great for readers who enjoyed the Ranger's Apprentice, and those who enjoy Monty Python, the Quest for Camelot, and Barbie in the Three Musketeers. It's also great for readers who enjoy Robin Hood feels, brotherhood, childhood friends, rivals-to-friends, and stories with ladies-in-waiting, knights, and revenge. If that sounds right up your alley, be sure to check out the book blurb!

One lady-in-waiting. One dictator. A fierce desire for revenge.

It’s well known throughout Thedessa that Dictator Odin Ishard killed the heirs to the kingdom and the elite team of knights accompanying them–including Alyth Renley’s father. Now a lady-in-waiting to the queen, Alyth plots the demise of the man who killed her family.

The only problem?

While a skilled archer, she needs more skill to defeat the cunning dictator. She has to join the King’s Guard– the elite team of knights her dad was in– to gain the skills needed…or risk losing her societal status trying.

Through incredible circumstances, Alyth manages to be accepted into the Guard. Just days later, Thedessa is invaded by Ishard, and when the kingdom falls, Alyth is forced to flee into the deadly Seocca Woods with a group of knights to raise aid before their kingdom is lost completely.

When Alyth has the opportunity to kill the man who destroyed her life, will she choose to satisfy her craving for revenge, or save the lives of those around her?

Hi. My name is Osawese Agbonkonkon. I'm a University of Oregon student-athlete. I've been an avid writer for years and while at Oregon I am majoring in Economics with minors in English and History, along with plans to go to law school next. I also competed for the varsity Track & Field team. "Psychic Suit" is a project I've been working on for 6 years and is my "Magnum Opus". Publishing it is the goal I've been working towards for half a decade and I've finally released it with the company Songspire Books
I can best describe the novel as a YA superhero espionage thriller with sci-fi and fantasy elements. What really makes the story unique is some of the heroes in the novel have mental health conditions, and one of the big points in the story is how would a superhero who is a public figure revered and respected by millions go about their life while suffering from mental health challenges like so many people in the real world do.

It's out now on Amazon and Barnes & Noble

Eva Dabrowska | 2 comments Hey everyone :)

I just wanted to share the first book I've ever written with you. It's a YA Romance novel called "When Everyone Left But You". It's a heartfelt and emotional romance that I believe many readers will connect with. At least that's what I hope after about 1 year of writing...

The blurb is at the end for you to get a better overview, and if you decide to read you can reach out to me anytime and we can chat about it, you can ask me questions about the characters, the plot, just everything you want to discuss. I hope you will have as much fun reading as I had while writing!

Blurb:
Can two broken hearts heal each other?
In the tranquil, picturesque town of Meadow Creek, life moves at a gentle pace, surrounded by rolling hills, whispering pines, and vast fields as far as the eye can see. Yet, beneath this serene facade, it's the calm before a perfect storm that is brewing and grumbling in the distance — a storm that will not only push Grace to the edge of life and death but also into the arms of someone as special and broken as herself.
Grace and Luca, two souls scarred by past traumas, find solace and strength in each other's company. Grace, grappling with the scars of her troubled past and the fears of her yet uncertain future, tries to find her way in the whipping gusts of life. Luca, dealing with the wounds of shattered relationships, broken dreams, and social isolation, has retracted into a world where he believes nobody can hurt him anymore.
When fate lets their paths cross, neither of them knows how much they will become the light in each other's darkness. Through shared moments of vulnerability and laughter, they begin to uncover the pieces of their broken hearts. From the serenity of Luca's farm to the bustling streets of Ashford, their journey is one of healing, discovery, and the budding hope that two wounded hearts can indeed find a way to heal together.
In a tale rich with emotional depth and intimate revelations, will a love thought to be lost forever reignite? Grace and Luca must confront their fears and decide if they can truly overcome the shadows of their past and regain trust in one another. Can they together find the courage to let go of what was and embrace what will be?

Avery Duffy | 9 comments Hello Everyone.
Avery Duffy here. As a way of introducing myself, I started writing during a blizzard so epic, even the squirrels were wearing hats. It was like a cosmic joke, trapping me in my house with a blank page. So, I filled it with words, and then I couldn’t stop.
Now, I’m addicted to the thrill of creating worlds and characters who often get into unpredictable predicaments. It’s like being the puppet master in a chaotic puppet show, but without the strings. When I write, often it is like a movie to me. Just like a reader, I can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Elen Gait | 3 comments Hi everyone!

My name is Elen Gait, and I’m excited (and a little nervous!) to share that I’ve just published my debut novel, Jade Strings. I’m new to this community and thrilled to connect with fellow book lovers.

Jade Strings is far from a typical love story. It follows two people who find each other in their dreams, sharing an inexplicable bond. When they finally meet in real life, the connection is undeniable, even though both are facing personal struggles and carrying emotional baggage. Despite their fears, they take a leap and start a relationship.

This is a story filled with emotional highs and lows, exploring the fragility of relationships, the courage it takes to open up to love, and the unexpected twists life can throw at you.

I’d love for a few readers to check it out and leave an honest review on Goodreads or Amazon. Your feedback would mean the world to me and help me grow as a writer.

If you're interested, feel free to reply to this post or send me a message, as I’m planning to launch a $0 promotion on Amazon soon. Thank you so much for considering, and I hope you enjoy Jade Strings!

Looking forward to hearing from you all and joining in the group discussions.

My latest book, Keeper of the Archives, is out now! It’s the story of 17-year-old Eden Fittell, who lives in Sendirian City, which was rebuilt after a climate catastrophe. She struggles to help her family survive and keep her alcoholic father away.

When she gets a job in the government’s Archives, she thinks it will be the answer to everything, but it could put her in even more danger because the city is being targeted by crime boss Kore Luddan, who uses a freak called Izrod to kidnap locals so that Kore can experiment on them. Sometimes they turn up later in a frenzy, crazed and uncontrollable. They usually die not long after. And Kore has a preference for targeting government employees.

Is Eden safe? What is Kore planning. Will it be the end of Sendirian City?

Kenneth | 2 comments The Last Streamers of Confetti on New Year's Eve (Following Forever Book 2) by Kenneth Fecteau
Hello, we are Kenneth and Judy Nichols Fecteau, co-authors of the Following Forever Series. Book one is titled "There's No Such Thing as Never in Forever" and newly released book two is "The Last Streamers of Confetti on New Year's Eve." The Following Forever Series is an action packed, young adult/new adult fantasy series that follows the present and past lives of the four teen members of the rock band, The Mols.

In book one of the series, "There’s No Such Thing as Never in Forever," the four friends are adopted into The Mistook Native American Tribe. Under the guidance of Rosethorn, Shaman of the tribe, they go on a vision quest during which they must navigate their way through time to retrieve an ancient talisman, lost centuries ago by the tribe.

In book two, "The Last Streamers of Confetti on New Year's Eve," the teens realize that their vision quest is not over. Mandy and Lizzy are assigned to write a newspaper article about the Manchester Castle Hotel's upcoming one hundredth anniversary celebration set for New Year’s Day. They are aware of the hotel’s reputation for paranormal occurrences. It isn’t until their first night’s stay that they have “dreams” that lead them to believe that they are actually experiencing past lives in 1928 New Orleans. As they merge into their past-life incarnations, they find themselves crawling across rooftops by night, as gang-fighting vigilantes, and writing for the New Orleans Nitpicker newspaper by day. Along with their friends, they make a plan to rid the French Quarter of the gang that is bringing violence, death and destruction to the city. When the plans are set into action, danger and death become reality. It is only when the last streamers of confetti fall on New Year’s Eve, that present and past life relationships merge.

Readers of Young Adult or New Adult fiction will love this imaginative series full of action, romance, humor and page turning suspense.

Steve Day (stuspenz57) | 5 comments Alice Drake and the Crystals of Eden

Alice Drake is a timley fantasy book written about a young woman and her friends. They live hidden away in the Adirondack Forest in 2078. The background is that in 2024 through 2028, the United States right wing facist government destoryed the United States. What is left is a dystopia of lawlessness. The frontier is terrorized by Drumpsters, lawless gangs. Alice Drake, with her supernatural powers, becomes the improbably heroine to save humanity in the North Country.

Brock Farrow | 2 comments Hi, my name is Brock Farrow. I've just published my first book and, to be honest, I'm trying to get some honest feedback from complete strangers, so I'm giving the book away for free on Amazon on November 24th: https://www.amazon.com/Valley-Wolves-...

Valley of the Wolves Ishkwandem (Valley of the Wolves, #1) by Brock Farrow

Blurb: Fifteen-year-old foster child Josh Redford's only friend in the world was an old Algonquin trapper who taught him the secrets of the wilderness. When the trapper dies, Josh runs away to a remote area of the rugged Laurentian Mountains, where he soon discovers that the trapper's tales of animal spirits are true, and that not all of them are friendly. Caught in an ancient war between good and evil, Josh's escape from grief quickly becomes a harrowing struggle to survive. Desperate and alone, he soon discovers the one secret the trapper never revealed.

Series Blurb: Valley of the Wolves is a four-book series full of action and adventure that is rooted in Algonquin mythology. It is also the story of how colonialism nearly destroyed a beautiful people and their culture.

A.J.Walsh | 2 comments MOLLY LIGHTFOOT and the TIME CRYSTAL by AJ WALSH

Hello Goodreads! I'm AJ Walsh author of the new YA fantasy/science fiction novel 'Molly Lightfoot and the Time Crystal'

I would love to get some honest reviews of my book, which is available on Amazon as a Kindle book (US $0.99 or on Kindle Unlimited) or as a paperback, available in most major markets.

I will shortly have a Kindle giveaway, so watch this space.

Here is a description of 'Molly Lightfoot and the Time Crystal' from the Amazon page:

*******************************************************************

Molly Lightfoot has plenty of things to worry about.
She’s just arrived on an alien planet inhabited by hostile and technologically primitive people – the Mannaz. Her race, the Theoi, just happen to look identical to them, for reasons she doesn’t know. And now, together with a select group of others, she has to spend seven years at a Mannaz school, without telling anyone she’s an alien.
It’s all part of a mysterious plan by the overbearing leaders of the Theoi – the Secretariat – who she feels are constantly watching her every move, and trying to steal a strange crystal that was a gift from her grand guardians.
Together with new friends Fortuna and Niko, Molly embarks on the adventure of a lifetime at Kingswood High School, nestled in the alpine town of Excelsior.
There’s just a couple of minor problems…the God of Death and Renewal is trying to kill her…
And that alien planet she landed on – it’s called Earth…

Through a unique mix of strange and familiar worlds, Molly Lightfoot and the Time Crystal practically overflows with adventure, mystery, fascinating characters, incredible creatures and, not to mention, an undeniably almighty plot twist. This is a book that will appeal to parents looking for an exciting story to read to their children, or teenagers eager to delve into a captivating new universe. Follow along as Molly and her peers navigate both friendships and adversaries, as they explore the wonders of planet Earth, for the very first time.

Klara Maria | 1 comments Dear young adult book-lovers!

I am looking for brave people who dare to read something that is new and "out-of-the-box", and give honest reviews!
ALB I: STORY OF EURA is a blend of Science fiction and Fantasy, a tale about machines, magic, fear, power, love and revenge.

If you (like me) love stuff like Dune, the arthurian legends or the Dark Tower series, if you like to engage with wild ideas, this book might be a great read for you!
So nice to connect on here, and have a great day everybody!

“Destiny,” it whispered in a voice as fleeting as morning dew. “It’s coming for you, Eura. It’s coming, and nothing can stop it.”

Eura is just a child when she is taken by the “Basilisk”, an ominous creature of immense power who has dominion over the galaxy.
Growing up in his world of unchecked might and nonexistent consequences, Eura finds herself increasingly tormented by strange, recurring nightmares, unresolved doubts and a dark prophecy.
One day, the unimaginable happens—something not even the Basilisk can stop.
And a tumultuous quest for magic, love and power unfolds—in a faraway land, where Camelot Castle stands enthroned on Mount Avaloss, and long-buried secrets are waiting to be woken…

B.L. Mostyn (blmostyn) | 6 comments Hi,
I'm B.L. Mostyn, a brand-new YA Fantasy indie author. I'm so brand new that my book doesn't release to print until 5/13. Which is the same day I'm having a VIRTUAL LAUNCH PARTY!

This is the book I'll be launching: YA Epic Fantasy - chosen-one, blind seer, family-ties, etc. - Heroes of Another Age: A Guardian Prequel
Description:
If you were asked to save a distant city from an unknown, all-consuming darkness―that will almost certainly kill you―it'd kind of make you wonder: who would want to be a hero?
Aaron loves the life he's got. It's just him, his twin brother Aton, and their mother living atop a picturesque mountaintop, herding sheep, and hiding the fact that they're all werewolves. The humans down below don't care much for shifters, and they'd like Aaron even less if they knew he also had magical powers. But as long as they stay hidden, they're safe.

After a tragic accident, Aaron and Aton learn of a looming catastrophe in the east―and that it's their destiny to stop it. Aton is eager to embrace the call to adventure. He's always been the stronger, braver brother. But Aaron isn't so sure.

Trekking through snow-covered mountains and shadowy forests filled with vicious, unrelenting demons, Aaron begins to question if he'll even survive the journey―let alone face the sinister force that awaits.

Can Aaron's fledgling magic and Aton's warrior strength stand against the darkness? Or will they be swallowed by it? Fate may have chosen them―but when dragons and gods enter the fray, how can two brothers hope to defy destiny?

If you enjoy His Dark Materials, you won't want to miss Heroes of Another Age by B.L. Mostyn―an epic fantasy full of magic, monsters, and myth.

Seneca Rebel & Seneca Element are available on Amazon, and The Seneca Society website has freebie pages as well. Seneca Evolution releases 5/5/25!
