Team Jason Mraz - Chat!
Got you checked in Betsy! Looks like you lost two people so far, so I'll try to add some replacement players.

I added a book to the SS but I couldn't put my name. I guess Alaina needs to do whatever to it. Anyway, I'll start with a novella to fit our theme.

This round will cover seven (7) days.
Start: January 1st at 12:00 AM (in your time zone)
End: January 7th at 11:59 PM (in your time zone)
Please check in on January 8th by 3:00 AM Eastern. (Midnight in PST)
Welcome to premier night everyone!
This week's theme will only have two tasks, just like all the future theme's coming your way. Friendly reminder, you only need to read for ONE of these tasks. We also need THREE different people reading for this task.
Here are this week's tasks:
*Series title starts and ends with a letter in PREMIER, OR
*Tagged 'Novella' at least 20 times
So, do all three people have to read for the same premier night task? Like we have to pick one and do it three times?
Also, I have a book for the dance rumba: author's name is exactly five letters. Can anyone read for the other rumba task: series title starts with R?

No. Individually we only have to read one of the tasks, but at least three different people have to read each task. I'm assuming once we have three different that task is complete.
does that make sense?

Alan Bersten:
*Published in May (any year)
Samantha Harris:
*Page count has the number '7' in it
Artem Chigvintsev:
*Author's last name as 3 vowels in it
Pasha Pashkov:
*Author has a birthday in May

Yes, that makes sense to me.
So as a team, which task do we want to read this week? I deleted mine from the spreadsheet, realizing that we only have to read one of these tasks. I haven't found a novella, but I have a series that starts and ends with PREMIER. Since only 3 of us need to read this we should decide which one.
I think we should go for "tagged novella" - I can pick one up for that, and since its novellas it should be a quick read

Ok, I'll see if I can find a novella with 20 tags. I've found some, but of course they are only tagged 4 or 5 times lol

Sorry, I think my question was unclear. I meant: do all three theme tasks have to be the same? Like, do we have to read three books "tagged novella 20 times" or can we do two books tagged novella and one where the series starts and ends with PREMIER?

All three need to be under the same task.

I can tackle the Judge tasks this week. I have two books that would work for Len Goodman:
*Features a death
*MC's first name is 3 letters exactly
Does this work for everyone? If not I can find another category to work on.

That looks great Jamie! I can read for at least one, probably both, of the Elizabeth Bennet categories

Iris Winnow:
*Features a character that goes missing:
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
I see Vicki has a book for Artem - do we have someone else who can finish his other category? Letters TROUPE in title

I'm also reading a book that fits a LOT of categories. One of the easier ones to match is its MPG is mystery, so if someone has MC is detective that would cover another book character/star, it has 7 in pg count so to match that one we'd need instrument on cover. Anyway, I don't know how we want to go about deciding how many complete sets of dances and other things we need per week.
I'm going to put my currently reading book down for what I think might be easiest to match, but it fits these:
Swing in text
MC starts with J
MPG Contemporary
Features a death
Author's name 3 words
Page count has 7
Model in text
Published in March
MPG Mystery
Letters SHIRE in title
Plus a couple others but that should be enough to go on if anyone wants to look at those and see if we want to complete one of the categories.
Vicki, if you use your book for MPG Contemporary, I have a book that will fit the other category! Also, it looks like with all the CR books we have all the necessary categories "completed," so if I understand correctly we can just post books for whatever they fit, right?

I think we need to consider to bank books if we can. We have to read 13 it sounds like every week so banking books will help us if some weeks we don't have enough read.
Also FYI, I noticed that my novella slot had a checkmark next to it, but I usually check it once I post my links on the review page. I unchecked it, so I know I need to post that one still.
I am starting it now, so it should be done later today, and rechecked.

13 is the minimum - you can always read more.
Each week you need the theme, a judge and a host. That's 7 books right there.
For each dance, you need a professional dancer and a star/book character. That's 6 books right there.

@Raquel - You just posted a review for Len Goodman, but I completed that task on 1/1. Is there another task your book works for?
Vicki wrote: "Saige, if you want (or anyone else) I don’t mind if you change my book Bones Under the Ice to contemporary."
I changed it in the sheet for you Vicki.

I mean we have to complete both tasks for the Judge, so do you have another book for the second task? Or does anyone have another that would fit that?
I completed both tasks for Len Goodman already.
We can do the same one but from my understanding we have to do BOTH tasks in order to get credit. So unless someone else has MC's first name is 3 letters exactly, I don't know that it will count??
