savoring_pages | 1 comments I just finished reading the Mindf*ck Series (5 novellas that are installations of the same story) by S.T. Abby. The heroine is a serial killer avenging trauma wrought on her and her family; the hero is a FBI profiler attempting to identify the killer behind the murders. Both are married exclusively to their missions until they meet by happenstance and become enthralled with one another. Much secrecy and maneuvering ensues as the two become romantically involved and the heroine tries to shield her identity from the hero. I found it to be a read that I blew through because I kept needing to know what happened next.

Stanley Hastings #10, in which Stan's screenplay is used as a script for a movie being shot in New York. Some accidents are not actually accidents and the body count goes up. I thought this is one of the best of the series, very entertaining light mystery. I really liked it, 4 stars.

A murder trial was the last thing Lincoln wanted to take on as there were rumblings at the time people wanting Lincoln to enter the political arena. Book appeals to those who enjoy the law, murder trials or true crime stories then this is worthy read.

The book earned nominations for the Anthony, Barry, and Macavity Awards as the Best First Mystery Novel by a new author. And it won the LA Times Book Prize as well. Let's hope it lives up to the hype.
