A fast-paced, hilarious, and ultimately hopeful novel for anyone who has ever worried they might be a terrible person—from the bestselling author of Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead .
Enid is obsessed with space. She can tell you all about black holes and their ability to spaghettify you without batting an eye in fear. Her one major phobia? Bald men. But she tries to keep that one under wraps. When she’s not listening to her favorite true crime podcasts on a loop, she’s serially dating a rotation of women from dating apps. At the same time, she’s trying to forge a new relationship with her estranged half-sisters after the death of her absent father. When she unwittingly plunges into her first serious romantic entanglement, Enid starts to believe that someone is following her.
As her paranoia spirals out of control, Enid must contend with her mounting suspicion that something is seriously wrong with her. Because at the end of the day there’s only one person she can’t outrun—herself.
Brimming with quirky humor, charm, and heart, Interesting Facts about Space effortlessly shows us the power of revealing our secret shames, the most beautifully human parts of us all.
(view spoiler)[ I like this mc but I'm also very sad for her. She seems lonely. I like her mom. I like the way her mom always listens to her and all her stories. She even asks follow up questions and everything (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ wow, I can't tell if she's imaging it or not. I assume not. but is the bald guy that keeps showing up - at least at her door - is it just her co-worker who realized they actually live in the same building?
I don't know who's peaking in her windows and breaking into her apartment, though. I wonder if this is both happening AND tied to a trauma in her childhood
did she possible hurt the boyfriend she's referencing in the youtube video.
her watching her former self just breaks my heart I like Polly but I'm not sure if they are together for the right reasons I love her friend at work and hate Maveric. For as much time as our mc thinks about how she presents to the world and tries not to make others uncomfortable, Maveric seems oblivious and just keeps bugging her and her friend at work. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ this is still such an odd story there's a lot about relationships - about cheating or connecting. about manipulation and love.
about depression and anxiety
I still can't figure out why the neighbor was coming to her door. Who made it into her apartment (did they have a key?!).
I'm not sure how she's not in trouble at work. she's clearly not working on this bug. Poor George, he keeps trying
at least she's in counseling. But now she's breaking up with her.
the story about her mom not coming out for 4 day and her saving her - it broke my heart. Her mom seems to still roller coaster with her emotions. I love how well she listens to her daughter but the fact her daughter has to save her and monitor her is just devastating.
I'm a little worried about Ben. Is that the PTSD about relationships that she's having?
I'm not sure where this is going or how this ends (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ this was an odd one I liked the mc I guess we should have guessed it was her best friend, but how could we I love that, in the end, she was working with George I was so glad she sorted things out
it's amazing, the guilt and misunderstanding we can hold on to, from childhood, if we don't seek clarification
in the end, I'm glad she wasn't mad at her mom. she really did her best.
