What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

AIl can remember is a girl, who loved her
father very much and he loved her as well.
He left her at a boarding school and
promised that he would come back (I don't
know why he left her). It was clear that she
and her father were rich, remember
vaguely that it was her birthday at some
point and there were a lot of fancy things
for her but they were confiscated. That
boarding school was awful, and the little girl
ended up being like a maid there, maybe
locked up in a small room with a little
window. (I have the impression that there is
something about that window). Also, the
most vague thing that remember is that
she went to buy things ( a thing that she
would be ordered to do) and it was raining.
Maybe she was so hated because she was
rich, idk.
