Librarian Quiz newbie question

newest »

I'm a newbie Librarian (since yesterday in fact). I had a couple of active posts for additional editions to be added to books in this group, and in my note at the end of the quiz when I passed I mentioned them and suggested the staff check the quality of the information I provided.
I hope that helps!

Thank you so much for your reply and for the tip!
Did you add the links of your requests in the group in the note as well?
I hope I can join the team soon to help!
Have a nice day!

I'm not sure why I'm not a librarian yet.
Someone else has this problem too?
Love!

See this post and then under the heading "Questions (not edit requests)". I hope you can find out more via that route.

My question was already in the right folder I see now haha :)

But... If I don't have a request for the librarians, how can I be active here?
Someone any idea? :)
Are there any not request related topics here?

Or find an author/series and start a project to describe how the clean up all the books in that series/written by that author in the "Looking for a Project?" folder

Ohh! These are good ideas! Thank you so much Linde! I should have thought about this!
These are things I actually can do! Thanks!

I clicked the support page expecting for it to take a while. I did it on Friday night. Saturday morning someone from support emailed me to say that it was fixed and suggested that I join the library group. I have since discovered that many have that as part of there
This was in Jun. Less than a month earlier my daughter had just got her Masters of Library Science 💕and I told them that I wasn't a librarian. She explained what the term means here (which I find kind of insulting to the real ones who actually have degrees). I joined the group, but never did anything with it.
I didn't pay attention that first time (I didn't realize that what I clicked was the ACTUAL timed test). I forgot about for a month and then took it again in August. I failed a few times. Then I passed. I was sent an email saying I needed to tell them WHY I wanted to be one. That seemed the most important reason.
As others have stated you cannot retake it after passing.

Hi, I'm not sure what you want to tell me exactly, but you can take the librarian quiz every 24h.
After passing the test, you have to write a motivation, which I did of course.
There are a couple of things you have to do before you take the test:
- Be a goodreads member for at least 3 months
- Shelved at least 50 books
- Be a member of this group
And, even if you pass the test, you can do it again. Unless you got the librarian status.

I looked through my emails and the tests I had taken. It was 2 weeks from me passing the test to being given librarian status.
I really think the essay portion is very important to GoodReads.
Perhaps they have changed the procedure since last year.
Good luck to you.
Maybe someone can help this old/newbie out!
I've been away from Goodreads for a couple of years and got my love for reading back, so started to use Goodreads again.
I would love to become a librarian to help you out.
I passed the quiz a couple of times and I know you don't receive a message when the staff did not accepted you yet.
But I wanted to know if I did anything else wrong maybe?
At the start of the Quiz I read this:
In order to apply for Goodreads Librarian status you must have shelved at least 50 books in your profile.
I've more than 50 books shelved of course and I wrote a reason why I want to become a librarian.
Maybe not specific enough? Maybe someone has some tips for me?
I hope hear from you,
Thank you so much! <3
