How many books can we request?
You can request up to a MAX of 3 books per month, as long as they meet the criteria!
Can we suggest themes for coming months?
Of course you can! We’d love to hear some theme ideas from all of you.
How is the monthly book chosen?
All suggestions are popped in a random generator. The first 4 selected are then entered into the poll, both here and on fable. The title with the most poll votes, collectively, becomes our Read for the following month
What if more than one person votes for the same book?
Every vote gets counted, which means if multiple people vote for the same book, that book will get extra entries into the random generator. This means more chances to be selected!
Will the discussion pages show spoilers?
Although Goodreads doesn't have complete spoiler avoidance, we ask that members use the hide spoiler html available on the desktop site to hide their spoilers for everyone unless directly clicked to reveal. There will also be a Spoiler Chat section in every book of the month forum where you can discuss freely. We advise if you have not finished the BOTM title, avoid reading this forum.
Will these be on any other platform?
Yes! We are also on Fable if you prefer their discussion layout.

Book of the Month is where we come together and pick one book to read for the month coming. Think of it as a big buddy read!
If you'd like to participate, here are a few ground rules so that everyone is on the same page, as well as how it will work!
Each month, there will be a Suggestion Box where you can suggest books that meet the following criteria...
- The book has chapters and is at least 100 pages long
- The book is available in all formats for easier access for everyone.
- You only suggest a MAX of 3 books each month.
Timeline
On the 1st of every month, the discussion threads for that month’s book will be open for posting under the Book of the Month Discussion Space. Everyone will have 25 Days to put in their requests.
On the 25th of each month, 4 books will be randomly selected to go to a poll. The winning title will be announced on the first of every month, giving everyone the entire month to obtain and read the book, alongside your usual reads.
This will repeat throughout the entire year.
Example
1st April - April's BOTM Forum will open. May's Suggestion Box will open
25th April - May's Suggestion Box will close. Poll will be posted
1st May - May's BOTM Forum will open. June's Suggestion Box will open
