Phelicia Porter | 5 comments Hi!!
I am currently in the middle of reading TOG and decided to read AB after Heir of Fire. I just cannot get into it! I already know the big event that happens with S.C from spoilers on TikTok. Is it still worth it to read?

lex | 7 comments I feel like AB provides a deeper perspective of Celaenas beginnings like it explains why she does certain things or why she’d react to something a certain way if that makes sense. I think it adds pain to her other losses 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I’m also a read AB before TOG reader 🤣

Makala Bertoty | 5 comments I read the series how you are currently reading it. And all of the short stories tell about all of the characters play a part towards the end of the series. If that makes sense! So I think it’s important to read AB just for that reason alone.

Katie Freeland (katief25) | 9 comments I read the whole series and went back and read assassin’s blade but didn’t finish it yet.

I mean I feel like you do need to read it to feel more closer to Celaena. I really liked it and it made more sense when I read it.

Sethanic | 14 comments Definitely a need to read. You will understand why Celaena did what she did in every book after this one, and each Novella/chapter introduced more important side characters for other books, not just S.C. Definitely a book that need a push-through sort of motivation. But will be worth it once you read other books in the series!

Charity (Booktrovert Reader) (booktrovertreader) | 27 comments For some reason, after reading it and rereading the TOG series. I never felt compelled or had any interest reading Assassin's Blade. Never read it once. I don't have any reasons other than I am just not interested in reading the novella

Maegan (maadreads) | 22 comments There are certain events and things said that will be 100% more impactful if you read AB. Stab you in the heart and ruin your day type things! It's worth it!

👑redhead✨chronicles📚💎 READ IT!! It’s a great book of short stories and it’s very necessary for what’s to come!!

message 10: by Reading Mouse (new)

Reading Mouse (readingmouse_21) I’m still on Crown of Midnight, and I’m one of those people who read The Assassin’s Blade first. I am proud to say that it was one of the best decisions. I absolutely LOVED that book. I would definitely recommend it! 😁

message 11: by Jazmin (new)

Jazmin (jaz27) | 1 comments Unpopular opinion: I read Assassins Blade FIRST! I had zero regrets - I thought it provided a rich backstory and lead me seamlessly into Throne of Glass. It holds such a soft spot in my heart - definitely read it even if it feels hard to digest at first. It’s worth it!

message 12: by Stace (new)

Stace | 13 comments I read it first too - no regrets! ❤️

message 13: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Kersey | 6 comments I’m reading it now. I don’t know enough about the series to answer your question but I’m enjoying it!!! It’s really good and if Maas wrote this similar to acotar then there is something in this story you’ll need to know later.

message 14: by Murray (new)

Murray Gunn (murraygunn) | 4 comments I read AB after Queen of Shadows and wish that I'd read it before because it really sets the scene for QoS. You could read it any time before, but I'd recommend waiting until you know Celaena better, so for me the ideal spot would be after Heir of Fire.

This is the series entry on my reading order site. https://reading-order.design.murraygu...

blissful.brii | 10 comments I’ve read Assassin’s Blade definitely was worth it as the prequel!

message 16: by Thenerdypsych (new)

Thenerdypsych (drbrothers) | 5 comments I so narrowly skipped it when it was time for Heir of Fire, I so badly wanted to follow Caleana's story but my bestie encouraged me to read AB and I'm glad I did. You're introduced to characters in AB that return later in a big way that won't have the emotional impact if you have no idea who they are when they show up. You also get so much more invested in Caleana and her life leading up to being in Endovir. You also learn more about Sam which is heart wrenching! Please read it ♥️

message 17: by Charity (new)

Charity (Booktrovert Reader) (booktrovertreader) | 27 comments I never read it. And I personally don't care for it. I know its not a popular opinion. I am doing a reread and still not planning on reading it.

message 18: by Kindle Jenner (new)

Kindle Jenner I feel like if you don’t start with it, reading it is unnecessary. I read it after CoM and found it tedious. But I also feel like if I had started with it I wouldn’t have kept reading cause I didn’t like it (I know, unpopular opinion).
