I’m reading the wishing game too. It reads quick and so far been a nice break from some of my heavier reads of late

Logan (loganturner) | 1643 comments I really enjoyed The Wishing Game. It turned out to be different than I expected but still thought it was a fun and sweet story.

Ere you guys were wondering what the long wait was, we were over in District One partying away and deciding how evil to be.

Erewhon is your new battle book. So, we weren't that evil. This time.

message 454: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments I can read An Honorable Seduction which is in KU but ION is a harder one to start with so I don't know if we want to go with that one.

message 455: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I have The Honeys and also The Honey Witch.

message 456: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Since we are trying to be nice to each other, the ending options from Stacie's and Melanie's books are:

ION - possible nicest as can split over words so I only, I once etc.
EYS - not nice as words don't seem to start with EYS
TCH - this one is mean too, unless you want to read about Tchaikovsky

Also, since we are not in a rush, does anyone who does not have a book yet for the battle, want to try this one? Lots of choices with Honorable/Honest or Honey. (Also honk and Honduras but a bit less common).

message 457: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I realized after I posted it that they were both kinda mean and felt bad

I was checking books so I added them, no problem

Angie ☯ | 3092 comments Just going to say that TCH isn't too bad and I have a book that works for it....which you would not hate us using. 😉 ION isn't bad either.

I can take a look and grab the next one, I don’t have one yet.

Still wrapping up Father’s Day activities and can look in a bit.

Is it this one - Tchaikovsky (Stargazer Alien Barbarian Brides, #3) by Tasha Black

Angie ☯ | 3092 comments Do you want to know or be surprised??

My post should have said - "you would not hate us...."

Yes, it is that one. I just looked and there aren't as may options for Sky as I thought there would be!

Use whatever book you want and we will find something!!

message 464: by Cordelia (new)

Cordelia | 464 comments I have Honour's Splendour on my tbr, so that's an option too

message 465: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments OUR is very easy and Cordelia, you don't have a battle book yet. Are you able to get a copy and read it in one week? If so, I will go ahead and log it.

Sky is very easy too if you'd rather go with Stacie's book.

message 466: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Julie Garwood is an old favorite. Such brain candy

message 467: by Cordelia (new)

Cordelia | 464 comments Yes, I just checked it out on Libby! I can get started now.

Lexi | 4254 comments Cordelia wrote: "Yes, I just checked it out on Libby! I can get started now."

Don't start now! No battle books can be started before June 22nd. I will add a countdown later.

message 469: by Cordelia (new)

Cordelia | 464 comments Oh that's right! Okay, I will not start now.

message 470: by Mary (new)

Mary | 164 comments Are the Backroom BOMs the same as the regular ones? It's taking me longer than I thought it would to get The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen.

Do we still have until July 10th to post and do I just add it to the BOM sheet like the others?

I should be able to start it in a week or so (maybe sooner).

message 471: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Yes, you also get a month for the backroom BOM to answer three sets of questions and finish the book.

message 472: by Tricia (new)

Tricia (books2hooks) | 479 comments Mary- I have an epub copy of Country Gentlemen that I could email you if you wanted to start sooner.

That's so nice of you to think of, thank you. I think I'll just wait it out at my library, I'm next in line for the audio book so it shouldn't be too much longer. I'll keep reading random stuff while I wait.

This round, District 1 has to call your dignity and class and raise with Our Finest Hour. District 8 is really great! We wanted to return yOUR class with a bit of OURs.

message 475: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments I have one on my shelves that works Our Daughter's Bones.

message 476: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Melanie, NES is a good ending but since we are only up to Tuesday and most of the way through the battle planning. I am going to leave this open in case someone, especially Krissy, wants to volunteer a book since not everyone is on the computer as often

message 477: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 7435 comments Mod
I can do Our Mutual Friend, which Sammy keeps telling everyone to read. It is a long one though so if Krissy pops in with one or if we want to go with Melanie's that's fine too

That's because it's fabulous. If you don't want to take my word for it, ask Mel 😉😁

message 479: by Stacie (new)

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) I only have one that ends in RTS so I think anything is better than that lol

Sounds good. I'm on here most of the day (the perks of WFH) so I end up seeing these pretty quickly.

message 486: by Krissy (new)

Krissy (krissystewart) | 316 comments Yes sorry! I was working in the middle of BFE so I kept losing reception ☹️☹️

Here are my options:
Our Pup
Our Boy
Our Dom
Ours to Love
Our Man in Havana
Our Missing Hearts
Our Daughter's Bones
Our Husband

Sorry about the dodgy reception, that's always annoying to deal with.

Captains conferred a bit and like Our Boy would be a great choice to send to D1.

Remember not to start it until June 22nd and have it read by June 29 :)

Sorry I just saw this! They've been awesome, I actually lucked up and they've been coming in pretty steady at mine for me. I finished the fourth one over the weekend, and I need to start number 5 now. lol

Glad you are enjoying all the BOYs in the Thirst Games! We're sharing the The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, because we needed a little breeze with the swimsuit round and though you might as well! (Okay that's a little lame!! HA!)

message 495: by Tricia (new)

Tricia (books2hooks) | 479 comments Oh! I actually have a book for this. I have An Indigenous Peoples' History of the United States for Young People on my tbr and I have a copy already. So unless Judith really wants it, I would love to take this one.

Your last book for Battle One!!!!
I hope it give you all a ton of Pleasure. Or that a ton of rocks fall on your heads. I keep forgetting that we are supposed to be battling each other, and I was trying the rude thing. Not sure I like it.

Anyway, here you go-
The Pleasure of Finding Things Out: The Best Short Works of Richard P. Feynman
