I added my DQs for The Familiar, just wanted to note that since it won't be in this round's spreadsheet since I read it previously.

I'm also halfway through a YA book (Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer) and am hoping to finish that up tomorrow if we did end up needing the other YA slot.

I finished Percy Jackson yesterday and it's YA. Unless you need it for a #1.

there's a rouge line on the tracking sheet with no title. It is marked as read on 7/7 and was assigned to a resource. I checked everyone's shelves and nothing matches the page number & date combo.

If it's a ghost line, I can delete but I wanted to make sure we weren't missing a book.

FYI - I moved your The Wild Robot to Part 1 for Science Fiction. I'm not sure I'm going to get through Jade Legacy by the end of Round 2.

We had a few #1 in series not used for the mini so it was an easy shift.

Also, when my son and I went to see Despicable Me 4 this weekend, we saw a preview for The Wild Robot movie. It looks really good!

I work in a bookstore and the Wild Robot books looked so cute! I knew I needed to at least read the first one so I could recommend them to kids. I didn't realize it was going to be a movie. :)

I think it comes out in November (?).

I've given the book to a few of my nieces/nephews but seeing the preview makes me want to read the series.

Nope all good, it's showing up in all it's correct glory.

I'm not sure if GR was just being special or I'd gone temporarily blind after checking so many books.

We have a little over 5 and a half days until the end of Round 2.

Is anyone worried about not finishing books for spots on the mini challenge?

We have some books we can swap around or there's time for someone else to fill in if needs be.

I'll be reading my last book for the mini after I finish the current one I'm reading. I should be good.

I haven't finished A Sorceress Comes to Call yet, which is listed as a paranormal pick in the mini challenge. I will likely finish it, but if you have another completed book that would work, you're welcome to swap them out just to be on the safe side. I will definitely finish Into the Riverlands.

A few books were shifted. Sorceress is off the mini and all spots on the mini are full.

in terms of strategy to maximize protecting our resource piles the captains decided to focus sorting the rest of the books into Weapons, Food, and Defense.

These 3 piles seem to have the most points sorted into them already.

We aren't going to move anything out of Shelter in case that's a pile that receives a point increase. But if it gets hit with a decrease the impact will be less due to it having fewer points.

I actually just read A Nobelman's Guide so I guess I really should participate and get us the extra points, but ive never done BOM and don't know what to do. Can someone walk me through it?

Sure.

This one will have an extra step if you aren't a member of the Backroom Group. If you aren't you can request to join and I can go let you in. Because it's an 18+ group, that's a required GR thing.

Other than that it functions as a regular BOM.

Each day someone (who is assigned to that day) will post a set of discussion questions (DQs).

You just copy the questions into a new post and include your answers. You can opt out of a question if you can't really answer them (this tends to happen to me if I've finished the book and the question asks you to guess at what happens next).

And then you just wait until the next set gets posted. The time questions get posted is unpredictable since we are all over the world and time zones makes things complicated.

You have until one month from the start date to answer 3 sets (days) of questions. In this case, Aug 10th. On the BOM tab in the spreadsheet we link to your post answering the DQs. I'm happy to grab those for you if it's easier.

It is perfectly fine to have book points in one round and BOM participation in different round (Cordelia's BOM participation for The Familiar is an example of this).

You hover over the time stamp on the right side at the top of a given post. It's actually a hyperlink. Right click on the time stamp/hyperlink and chose 'copy link address' from the drop down that pops up.
Then in the spreadsheet just choose insert link and follow those steps like you do to add a book link.
