District 8
I found Any Witch Way You Can on KU. It’s fairly short and the author’s books in the past have been easy reads.
Books on my tbr either did not appeal to me to read or had bad endings.
I’ll wait a bit longer to see what else people have

Have a preference between Any Given Doomsday and Any Day Now?
Those two give the most options I think.
Those two give the most options I think.
That’s works too. Any of them would work fine.
Who’d like it? There’s one more book that’ll need to be picked tomorrow.
Whoever doesn’t take this one can get first go at battle book 10.

The last letters will hopefully pop up by the afternoon tomorrow.
Logan, you have dibs on the last book if you'd like it/have something that works.
I will need to get something over to D1 by early evening so they can get their last book sorted in time.

Just a reminder on the battles books must be started and finished during week 2 of Round 3. So please don't start books before Monday at 9am UTC (countdown in top post)

Well today is the DAY folks! Not for a DoomsDAY as you though could happen, but it's a Day Shift into the last battle planning! We are kicking it back over to you, so IF The shoe fits..... Can you believe this silliness is almost over??
Logan,
Let me know if you have a good book that fits.
Hopefully you have some good ones that start with If

When do I need it done by?

Emily still wins though for her MC using a raccoon (rabid?) as a weapon 😂"
What book was that because that sounds hilarious.

I really enjoyed the trilogy. The boarding school theme has been done a lot but this series was certainly a unique take on it.
I hope you enjoy the other 2 books just as much.

I also felt the second one was slow so didn't look into book 3. but it's worth it??

I loved Spinning Silver and have it on my tbr here to eventually reread it.

The mini challenge for Round 3 has been posted and started at 9am UTC on Thursday, August 1st.
Full details can be found here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
The gist of it is this:
For this challenge you have two wheels, and will have one active spin of each at a time.
One wheel is the District Wheel, requiring you to complete the set of tasks associated with the District. Each task must be filled with a different book (can't use one book to fill multiple tasks).
The other wheel is the Arena Hazards Wheel, which is a spell out wheel. Each letter must be filled with a different book (can't use one book to fill multiple letters).
Spell outs can use the first letter of the title or series title (ignore or use THE, A or AN as you prefer), the first letter of the author, narrator* or translator* first or last names. For this version NO character names are permitted.
* these can only be used if the edition read was audio or translated
Once you have finished a wheel you can request a new spin from the other captains, or repeat the requirements again - the choice is yours!
For the District Wheel, if on respinning you receive a set of tasks you have already read you may request another spin for a new set.
For the Arena Hazards Wheel, you may NOT request a new spin even if you receive a duplicate word.

I've added 3 new tabs to our tracking sheet.
-District Wheel. Our first spin landed us on District 3 tasks.
-Arena Hazards Wheel. Our first spin landed us on ELECTRIC FORCEFIELD to spell out. Note: Character names are not allowed for the spell out. This is a change from our typical spell out rules.
-Mini 3 Resources. This is just the master list of all the different District Tasks and spell out words for reference.
Once all books on a given set of District Tasks or Spell out are finished I can get them logged and we get a new spin/set of tasks.
We can 'bank' books for the Wheel tasks. Meaning, Lexi reads a book set in Australia and finishes it on Aug 3 and it doesn't fit anywhere great for District 3 tasks or spell out. We don't place it on a mini. On Aug 10th we get the spin of District 4, we can use her book for the set in Australia task.
