Tricia (books2hooks) | 479 comments I said that and then flipped through The Alchemist and it looks like a pretty fast read, so I'll try and get it done today or by tomorrow morning. If someone has one quicker, that's totally fine also - I need this for another challenge anyway.

Emily,

can you add The Bratva's Baby to your challenge shelf when you get a chance?

Thank you!

Ah. Okay. Well if it doesn't qualify for orange anyway, then it doesn't matter but I do know that the book I'm reading right now fits for US and so does My Mechanical Romance.

Krissy (krissystewart) | 316 comments Tin Eye is the bane of my challenge existence. Apparently these aren't orange enough. Not even close:

Becoming Quinn (Jonathan Quinn, #0.1) by Brett Battles The Glow Up (Franklin U, #5) by A.M. Johnson Battle Ship (Valentine's Inc. Cruises, #4) by Brittany Cournoyer

But if I try to find a red cover it'll say it's orange! 🤣

message 957: by Melanie (last edited Aug 12, 2024 07:12PM) (new)

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments I'm struggling with finding something orange enough as well. Everything I think is orange enough, TinEye says it's red or brown and not orange.

Like this one, looking at this book in my hand it's super orange but TinEye only puts it 40-something percent.

Inferno by Karen Harper

Mary | 164 comments We are allowed to click the "exclude background colors" button right? Sometimes that makes a big difference. I found a few that fit if anyone is interested. If not I may be able to find one of these from my library

Surrender to Me (Wicked Lovers, #4) by Shayla Black Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney
The Labrador Pact by Matt Haig Half Brother by Kenneth Oppel The Cat Who Could Read Backwards (Cat Who..., #1) by Lilian Jackson Braun Much Ado About You by Samantha Young

Tricia is working an orange already.

I should be finished with The Girl with All the Gifts by the end of today, so I'll have one T to contribute! :)

If you need anything specific from me just message as it’ll be easier to read than finding a post here

I just spun for a new District and we landed on District 5.

We have a lot of this one already. But we are missing a few.

#5 in series (I thought we had one, but we don't)
author first & last initials in POWER ELECTRICITY

I'll be finishing my takes place in China shortly.

Kim I'm using your Mistress of the Revolution for VOLT in title, are you expecting to finish in time? I know you have a few on the tracking sheet so wanted to check.

If we move The Secret Hookup to the spell out for T, my Wild Scottish Fortune book would work for author initials in power electricity (T, O)

message 970: by Krissy (new)

Krissy (krissystewart) | 316 comments My book The Brides of High Hill (The Singing Hills Cycle, #5) works. I forgot what that was used for. I also am currently listening to a #5 if we'd rather use that

message 971: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Brides was used in the last wheel and cannot be moved. However if you are listening to one now, that would be great.

I kept the Secret Hookup in case we are able to spin again and need a #6 in series, but I did find another T to make the swap!

Krissy (krissystewart) | 316 comments Yea I just hopped right into the next CU hockey book and it happens to be #5. I'm at work so can't add it but if someone wants to add it for me that'd be great!

Thank you all so much!

While this was a really fun challenge and being your captain was a joy (only a few people ghosted and we worked really well as a team!!) I am glad it's over.

I'm tired. Wearing a mod hat and captain pants on a brand new challenge is interesting. LOL. I had a lot of fun though.

Thanks again everyone and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and discovered some new books to read :)

The struggle for survival in the arena is a never ending cycle. Sometimes a tribute will luck into a boon but they are just as likely to be a victim of sabotage.

The Randomizer was let loose on all of the teams' resource supply piles. The Arena Masters are not heartless, the news isn't all bad. But the Arena is an unforgiving landscape and in the final hours the randomizer takes one last spin through the resources.

In Round 3, teams may receive a boons (15% page point increase), or sabotages (10% or 15% page point decrease). Teams can received the same boon or sabotage more than once. Impacts to resource supply piles are team specific.

Your team's randomizer results

Weapons: 10% decrease (protected, no change)
Shelter: 10% decrease (protected, no change)
Food: 15% increase
Defense: 10% decrease (protected, no change)
