Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) It's a KU borrow and I may even have it paperback so I'm good!

Perfect, I'll lob this over to D1 :)

Krissy (krissystewart) | 316 comments Is 3 letters the minimum we are allowed to overlap? We can't overlap 1 or 2 letters? Like, we can't overlap just the A? Cause that seems super easy

message 354: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 7435 comments Mod
It's 3 letters minimum. We can't make it too easy, it's a battle after all :)

One year (way before I was a mod) they had it where the overlap had to be the whole word and articles counted. One of the title ladders had to be like 20 books long. IT WAS SO HARD.

I read some garbage books in that game. The things I do for challenges!

I figured that was the case. And I feel your pain about garbage books for challenges lol

Okay so it’s back to us. Ideally we would match EST

I did find the book Esther on KU which I can read.

But does anyone else have a match?

message 358: by Lexi (last edited Jun 12, 2024 03:54PM) (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments I found that my library has:
Estuary

Which has the added bonus of being a deeply obnoxious ending.

There are a lot of options for Esther at the library, including
Esther the Wonder Pig, which would be a lot nicer and not get us stuck in an estuary loop.

message 359: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 7435 comments Mod
Did you want to go with Esther the wonder pig? My library does not have a digital copy available.

And to be honest I never thought to search under estuary 😂

message 360: by Lexi (last edited Jun 12, 2024 05:08PM) (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments I'll read either. How mean do we want to be?

message 361: by Lexi (last edited Jun 12, 2024 04:55PM) (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments I also found Estate of Mind but the pig book has better reviews

Eh, it’s still early in the line up. We have 8 more rounds to plan. Let’s save mean until like round 6 or 7.

Unless they bring it. Then we’ll meet ‘em behind the bleachers after school. Or whatever people who actually get into fights do 😬

Mary | 164 comments Sarah-- I was excited to see you added the Murderbot Diaries books to the spread sheet. I love them! I've been trying to read them all but they have a huge wait at my library.

They are my favorite series ever (or tied to be fair). Does you library have access to Hoopla? All the audios are on there.

No for some reason all I can get on Hoopla is video content. I use Libby for the audio. I just finished the 3rd one not too long ago the rest are all on hold, coming in up in the next few weeks. I really can't wait!

message 373: by Jenny (new)

Jenny | 8052 comments You all have heard that Apple TV+ is working on making Murderbot into a series, right? And, they have cast it. In case you don't want to know who, I have it under a spoiler tag, but I am excited about this.
(view spoiler)

message 374: by Tricia (new)

Tricia (books2hooks) | 479 comments Yes I had heard. I'm a little disappointed with the casting because I honestly always thought of murderbot as more gender neutral/female leaning. Probably because I didn't listen to the audio until book 2.

message 375: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments I agree on wanting someone more gender neutral. I only did the audios after I read through book four.

message 376: by Lexi (new)

Lexi | 4254 comments Also lots of books starting with venom, vengeance or vengeful if anyone has one they would be able to read in one week.

message 377: by Mary (new)

Mary | 164 comments I will definitely binge that when it comes out. My husband can finally figure out what I keep talking about. He's not much of a reader and I don't feel like I do them justice when I try to explain them to him. That will be fun to watch.

message 378: by Mary (new)

Can start reading after 22nd June at 9 UTC and finish it within the week? If so, one of the captains or I can add it to the spreadsheet.

What would people like to do?

If we do something too nasty it could backfire on us....

message 390: by Stacie (new)

It's looking like Melanie's book might be the better option at this still early stage.

Melanie, you okay if we go with your book?

Though Kim, I highly recommend Clean Sweep, it's a great series :)

we still have 6 more books to figure out. And with them having to be started and finished in the same week, most people won't want more than one depending on length.

As one of our top readers, you'll likely get at least one of the battle spots :)

And their will still be a Round 2 mini separate from this. And then another battle during Round 3.

Please don't despair, we'll work you in!

Krissy (krissystewart) | 316 comments Since I can only check in every once in a while just throw me in wherever. I can find a book for literally anything/task/category. No need to ask me first. Just say Krissy, you need to find and read a book for blahblahblah and I'll do it.

Since most of my day is spent in a vehicle I constantly have an audiobook going
