i think i want to start getting into fantasy books and i want to know what i should start with.

Harry Potter

It really depends on the kind of fantasy you want to read. If you want to get started on high or adult fantasy, I would recommend checking out Brandon Sanderson, but be careful with the reading order. Warbreaker or Mistborn are great, but I would NOT begin with The way of kings.

You can also start with YA fantasy, it's usually easier and it has simpler world building. It also usually has more of a romantic subplot, which can help getting into it. If you want more specific recs, reach out to me and ill try to think of some

The first books are YA and then the three last books gets more heated

Six of Crows is a really good entry to fantasy because the plot it pretty fast paced and a lot of books can be very magic war heavy but this one isn't. The first Throne of Glass books are also a good entry to fantasy but the later books are a bit heavier!

yes!! I also recommend the folk of the air series. I just finished the first book of the duology following that series.

Definitely six of crows or cruel prince, the cruel prince is very easy to follow as well. I’d also recommend Sorcery of thorns if you want a simple fantasy standalone. Legends and lattes is also pretty low stakes!

if u want to read a ya fantasy with some romance then i also recommend the cruel prince / the folk of the air series; it's literally amazing !!

for more of a fun/wholesome fantasy adventure series i strongly recommend percy jackson and harry potter.

and if u want to get into high fantasy i would suggest to start with the hobbit :)

i think it rly depends on what you're looking for but if you want to slowly ease your way in i'd recommend six of crows, harry potter, percy jackson, or any ya fantasy

if you want to get into more high fantasy with a more complex world i'd go with mistborn. this is my all time fav fantasy series and it has an amazing magic system and it's all logical and makes sense.

omg I totally forgot to say percy jackson!!! you don’t have to read them all but the riordan universe is so big now you’ll never get bored if you love the original series there are two more following that i’m still catching up with years later. pjo will always be one of my faves <3

harry potter if you haven’t yet!! besides the fact that it’s a “classic” all the books are so amazing ive been obsessed with them since i read them in middle school and im 21 now 😭. watch the movies AFTER the books, you won’t regret it.

For some romantasy books/series I recommend
- Married to Magic series by Elisa Kova (5 standalone in different Magic systems)
- A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness (vampires, witches, demons)
- A Court of Thorns and Roses by SJM (amazing magical kingdoms and unique powerful systems)

"The mirror visitor" is one of my favourite, It's a captivating and intricately crafted series, I think it should have more recognition :)

Harry Potter then all the Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase, etc. for fabtasy. Then the Divergent series got me into more of the romance half

powerless!! cannot stop recommending this one. its a super light hearted banter romance until you get to the end! its a cliffhanger but the next book is coming out soon so now is the ideal time to read it!! trust me i was giggling and squealing for literally over half of the book

dance of thieves, forth wing, once upon a broken heart, acotar and the cruel prince although I would personally not start with the two last series as I personally found the first books in both series kinda boring, although they do get better later.
