This thread is to discuss Brisingr, the third book in the Inheritance Cycle series by Christopher Paolini.

I’ve officially started reading Brisingr! I’m curious what you guys think about Chapter 6? (view spoiler)[Do you think Eragon made a good choice about Sloan’s punishment? Does it make sense for his character? Will Sloan change his nature and be able to see Katrina again? (hide spoiler)]

I thought this brought closure to a character I didn’t expect to see again, and I’m curious to hear your thoughts on it.

I am now curious! I should start this book today or tomorrow.

This sounds intriguing! I need to read a book for a book club discussion on Thursday first then I'll be diving into this one.

I need to postpone this reading for a week or two. Cannot get into the story. But I should read it in May.

I finished Brisingr and I really think the only reason I'm still enjoying it is because I originally read it as a kid. I think if I had picked this up at my current age or later, it wouldn't be as exciting, but I really do think the nostalgia and childhood enjoyment is carrying me through.

That said, there was definitely too much exposition and religion/philosophical talk for me, but I enjoyed the plot and Roran's character especially. I felt he had some good scenes and experiences.

I will admit I probably should change my rating from 5 to 4 at the highest 😅

I did finally start this one. I should finish by the end of the month. I'm not very far into it and hoping it captures my attention soon.

After another attempt, I decided to skip this one and go directly to book 4. If I feel I am missing something, I can always go back to book 3. For now, all seems OK.
Sorry for that, but I really couln't get into it..

I finished Brisingr last week and while there were a few important things that happened, I feel like it was a lot to get there.

I really enjoyed the confrontation with Murtagh and would have loved Eragon's time with the elves to have been a little longer once again. I really enjoyed the bit about his father reveal, the Menoa tree and forging his new sword.

I could have done without all the making stew and going through every single vote for the election of the new dwarf king.
