Yeah, I'm still waiting for mine! Perhaps we should extend this for another month! Then we'll do a Christmassy one for Christmastime! :) Sound good?
Fine by me, how's everyone else doing?
Is there a date/deadline? (I'll probably need another two weeks...)

Errrm, well if I start the Christmas book poll at the beginning of December and give that two weeks for people to vote, then it'll give til mid-December to get hold of and finish this book?
Just started and I'm laughing already:
'Unmentionables poured in, their movements clumsy yet swift; their burial clothing in a range of untidiness. Some wore gowns so tattered as to render them scandalous.... Their flesh was in varying degrees of putrefaction; the freshly stricken were slightly green and pliant...'
Ho,ho

I have finally got it from the library. So far very good.
"Just finished it. I loved Elizabeth's refusal of Darcy's initial proposal - there's a few people I'd love to send flying into a marble mantlepiece myself....
I liked the way the girls spent their idle moments wittling poison darts for blow-pipes etc, rather than working on endless pieces of needlework!
It is basically one joke that flows through the whole book, but some of the passages were very funny and I found myself laughing out loud on the bus (a good sign) - although I got some funny looks...

Sounds like you quite enjoyed it Liz, I was the same with laughing out loud. It was certaintly funnier than I thought it would be although some say it's sacrilage, personally I think it's brilliant

I did enjoy it. I studied the original for school and found it heavy going, then read it again a few years back and found it had improved (or rather, I had finally 'got' it).
The zombie additions give it a good jolt, but I feel it's done with affection. One question remains, what prevented Mr Bennet from disemboweling Mrs Bennet long before they got around to having the unbearable Lydia & Kitty?....

That is a very good question actually, she did get quite annoying by the end lol.
I have finished. I loved every bit of it as I do the original. The zombie bits just made me laugh. They were very cleverly put in and the story just flowed. Brillant!!!
