This area is for discussion about the May 2024 book selection, Dark Matter, while we are reading it.

Please make use of the spoilers function (
...
but replace [] with <>) as appropriate to be sure we don't ruin parts of the book for others.

Julie Grindal (julesgrin) | 150 comments I read this book several years ago and have recommended it to many friends. Enjoy it as I did!

Lori Cameron | 13 comments I read this book in January and LOVED it! It’s my favorite 2024 read thus far. I too have recommended it to others often and discussed themes it covers in hypotheticals and “If you ever had too…”.

My review was succinct :)
(I’ve never shared a review link 🤞🏽hope it works.)

Also, if you're already on board and not sure you picked the right book for a group read, rest assured you did . . . . .

Devon (dgivi13) | 176 comments Is anyone currently reading this book?

Pat of Rocks | 50 comments I read this when it was first released and planned to reread this month with the group....but... admittedly I'm still trying to finish "The Skeleton Key" from the group read a few months back. I got a late start on it, and feels like I've been reading it forever without making progress.

Dmitrii Lut | 1 comments TV show is better ;)

Devon (dgivi13) | 176 comments @Dmitrii i am hoping to fly through this one to compare the show!! Good to know its done well. Ive read too many recently where the show/movie did a terrible job depicting it 😩

Julie Grindal (julesgrin) | 150 comments I’m going to need to read this again now that there is a tv show. It has been 2 of so years ago when I read it but it’s a book I often recommend.

Dawn (dawnella77) | 156 comments I read this book in 2017 and loved it. I need to review it but I remember most of the content.

Devon (dgivi13) | 176 comments So far i am enjoying how fast paced it is in the beginning. Will it continue this momentum through the story? Sort of reminds me of Peter Swansons a Kind Worth Killing

Starting this one as soon as I have finished All the Light We Cannot See. Really enjoying the other---but also am excited for a bit quicker paced book.

Nanette Fandino-Diaz | 102 comments Devon wrote: "Is anyone currently reading this book?"

I am currently listening to it. Listening to Chapter 10. This is my second read by Blake Crouch. I am once again pleasantly pleased.

Dawn (dawnella77) | 156 comments I read Dark Matter in 2016 or 2017 and enjoyed it. I need to review my highlights although I remember most of the content. I enjoy Blake Couch's style of writing and his books.

Devon (dgivi13) | 176 comments I am almost 50% through, and im itching to start the series!!! I hope it does it justice!

message 16: by Don (new) - rated it 4 stars

Don Gorman (dong18) | 2 comments Really fun read. Blake Couch is a very stimulating writer. His catalog is a fun exploration.

Devon (dgivi13) | 176 comments Stimulating is a good word to describe his writing style. For the type of subject matter it is, he keeps it easy to understand without overdoing any explanations or details that tend to confuse/lose me in a story.

Devon (dgivi13) | 176 comments Did anyone else question his money totals throughout the book? I find it funny how little money seems to go a long way for him. I almost want to reread this to calculate it all out

He is, apparently, really good with a budget :)

Marinka | 27 comments Just picked this one up, only on page 21 but I’m intrigued 😊

Dawn (dawnella77) | 156 comments I do not remember the money aspect in the book since I read it so long ago but that is a common element in many books that is not addressed.
