Have fun with all the Supermen. lol!
Totally spaced Trishas test and studying. Of course she is busy.
Ugh, brain 🧠 🤯😵

Just got back.

Thanks for sharing the old spreadsheet! That's great!
and I'm completely okay with everyone reading whatever! No toe stepping worries needed! I'm REALLY relaxed!! lol!

YES! That's a great plan!!

Also make sure
You may not start reading your book before M..."
No worries about that because I am reading as many and as fast as I can books today as one of my challenges is finishing tonight at 10:00 my time. So I will at least be free to start reading for our challenge tomorrow.

I do not want to step on toes.
I really wanted to know what to not read in the next few days. I just hate it when a task comes up and I have just finished ..."
Yes, they're both fine, just busy! Trisha is studying for her certification test coming up soon and Jenny is always busy with her job and Goodreads. I'm sure they're just waiting until today or tomorrow when they can start reading. And I have been on my vacation, so it's been busy for me too PLUS the end of my other challenge. The final task is to read as many books as we can with the numbers 0 and 9 in them so we've been searching for 190, 209, 290, 309 etc. books. I have all my books for today with those page numbers that I'll be reading.

I plan to buddy read with Jammin Jenny! I hope you love your picks!

Trisha, I made a copy that I shared with you so feel free to heavily edit it and save with a different name. With the chance to the challenge of the pages not mattering the scoring is different. But at least it is something you can look at or start with.

I have not looked to see if I can get the books yet, so i will do that later.

How could you know, I never said until then, so no problem. 😁
Just Suspense tends to be bad for me in general, but also I can often tell by the synopsis if it might cause me to become overly anxious, so I just try and avoid those books. With so very many books avalable why add the stress if I do not need to. 🤓

..."
Absolutely! If you are triggered by something, definitely avoid it. ;)

Phew!! Finally sitting down before I study to get our spreadsheet going!!
I'll be working on that and reading my buddy read!

I've already started This Tender Land before Monday so I wouldn't be able to use that
but I own :

Please let me know if you see any issues or if you see me not counting points we're supposed to get!
Also, I've updated the tentative completion post to add a Date Started - since that will be something I'll need to track/double check!
See post 3 for both spreadsheet link AND tentative completion post for our thread!!

Please let me know if you see any issues or if you see me not counting points..."
Thanks, Trisha, it looks easy to use and clear to understand. :) Good job!

BOOK: This Tender Land
AUTHOR: William Kent Krueger
DATE STARTED: 10 Jun 2024
DATE READ: 11 Jun 2024
PAGES: 450
GISH TASK: #7. Read a book where the MC is a grandparent OR under 30 years old
2nd GISH TASK: #20. Read a book that is tagged 'Adventure'
BUDDY READ: N/A

Book: Clear
Author: Carys Davies
Start Date: 6/11
Date Read: 6/11
Pages: 208
Gish Task: 1
Gish Task: 21
Buddy Read: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Started 6/11/2024
Done 6/11/2024
320 pages, Kindle Edition
GISH task: #26. A Romeo and Juliet story. Two young unmatched socks meeting, falling in love, being kept apart and finally ending tragically. read a book with a person's first name in the title
2nd GISH task: 18. Create or provide GISHWHES welcome blankets (if it’s cold) or cold water and snacks (if it’s hot) for newly arriving immigrants… anywhere on the planet. Here’s some inspiration for you. - read a book where the MC is an immigrant (has moved to a new country)
But ALSO fits:
#3. Pancake art has come a long way, and the art form doesn’t get the respect it deserves. Let’s see pancake art of Guernica, Judith Slaying Holofernes, The Weeping Woman, Heronymous Bosch, or another famous work. - read a book with all the letters of ART in the author's name
17. Spicy Art! Using the spices you have in your spice cupboard, create a picture of your favorite (1) comic book cover, or (2) cartoon character. Take a picture of it alone, or as a side-by-side image comparison. - read a book that some might consider spicy
21. Let’s see the world famous once-every-3000-years “Spectral Olympics”. - read a book with 3 or 0 in the page count

But my book also fits 4 others. I am feeling like maybe the GISH task might be harder and therefore worth more points on #17 or #18. Rather than #3 I picked for my second task.
What do you gals think?
Although, would a NHL Hockey player from Sweden, be considered an immigrant? He has been playing, and living, in North America for many years.

I can never figure out which tasks they think are hard or not. Hopefully, someone else has a handle on that :)

It never says anything either way.

Book: Clear
Author: Carys Davies
Date Started: 6/13/24
Date Read: 6/13/24
Pages: 208
GISH task: #1 - read a book where a scene happens at a beach - the MC is rescued by a loner on the island
2nd GISH task: #21 - read a book with a 3 or 0 in the page count
Buddy Read: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

ha! I was just going off your original post! I was going to double check all tasks/books before I submitted on Saturday (or whenever we were all done)
I corrected (and updated the spreadsheet for us both). Thx for the second double check 😊

Ok. Thanks.
I changed the tasks around, so my completion post is updated.
And filled out the rest of the spreadsheet.

Did you decide to fo a Pride & Prejudice re-read for this week? Or something else?
Because I might be up for a Buddy Read of it in the next few weeks.

Here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Just a reminder:
Current round ends Sunday.
Our next round starts Monday - and books for Round 2 can't be Started until then!

Did you decide to fo a Pride & Prejudice ..."
I did not do Pride & Prejudice, and will be happy to do a Buddy Read.

Can the book span multiple seasons? Or does it specifically has to be only winter?

Book: RoomHate
Author: Penelope Ward
Date Started: 06/13/24
Date Read: 06/14/24
Pages: 320
GISH task: #17- read a book that some might consider spicy. Tagged Spicy
2nd GISH task: #7 - read a book where the MC is a grandparent OR under 30 years old - Book takes place 9 years after FMC moved at 15 which puts her at 24 and MMC at 25.

Can the book span multiple seasons? Or does it specifically has to be only winter?"
I would check with in the Q&A to see how much of the story needs to be set "during winter" to work for the task. That might be 'person who runs the challenge' preference specific!

My husband is just getting home from his business trip so I will update/complete our completion post and post later tonight (after I get a meal with hubby lol)

Opionions on....
37. No one talks about the fact that the destruction of the Death Star put thousands of Stormtroopers out of work. Luckily the Empire has a pretty robust social safety net and most of them have been retrained and placed in new jobs, the majority of which have been in the transportation sector. Let’s see a stormtrooper driving or flying a large passenger vehicle. - read a book with any type of vehicle on the cover
Do you think that would that include boats? What about a spaceship?
It says "any" type of vehicle.

Not sure what I am going to read yet, but that gives me a lot of easy options. Just need to cross reference tasks then see what reading mood Monday brings me.

It might take a little while with it being midnight "your time", so if people are in Hawaii it is only 4am. I think that is close to the International Date line, do not think anything farther west is behind, but rather in front. If that makes sense.
I do not remember seeing she had a cut off. So likely not till afternoon or evening. To allow people to report, and captains to then post.
