l i z [save the sharks‼️] thanks guys 🥹🥹

Sophie Foster | 33 comments Hi guys! Let me know when you want to start reading. 😊😊😊

Sophie Foster | 33 comments I'm thinking maybe we read the first few chapters, discuss our thoughts, then start to read at our own pace and put our spoiler-free thoughts and opinions along the way until we finish?

Sophie Foster | 33 comments How about we read to page 34?

message 11: by NYX (new)

NYX | 66 comments Yeah, I think that's a good idea. I have already started the book today, and I have finished the first chapter in PART ONE: THE BOY WHO WALKS IN THE LIGHT. I am planning to read more. I think her writing is a bit dry and robotic; the content is good, but it's how you execute it. I know it's too quick to judge, but let's see.

NYX | 66 comments Okay :)

Sophie Foster | 33 comments I started reading, too. I really like the idea that she is building off of, but I agree that her writing needs a bit more purpose and emotion. It might be intentional, however, and the dryness may decrease as the story progresses.

Sophie Foster | 33 comments Hi! I have read up to page 68, and I'm really liking the story. The bleak writing is still a bit of a problem for me, and I feel like the author writes exterior conflict really well but not interior conflict. We never really dive in to the character's minds as readers, even though we are in the first person perspective. I also think that there should be more description of the setting that we are in, but she may be getting to that soon! I really like the suspense that I'm feeling though, and I'm constantly having the urge to pick this book back up.

NYX | 66 comments Hey, I'm on page 96. So far, I like the switching perspectives from the characters and the action. I love how they are connected in a weird way. For example, they have known how to scale a wall like a five-story building in seconds, and June did the same thing in school. There are many more little things like this that really elevate the story so much. It's fast-paced and so addictive.

Sophie Foster | 33 comments I agree!

Sophie Foster | 33 comments I finished!

Sophie Foster | 33 comments I'm going to put all of my thoughts in my review, but if there are any opinions you have or want to talk about, let me know.

Sophie Foster | 33 comments 😊😊😊
