Starting today, I cannot edit any author page. For example, I try to edit

When I try to save I get the message:
We already have an author named Sasson Somekh. You can cancel your edit or merge these authors. One author profile will be kept, while all the books, quotes, and videos of the other will be merged into the kept profile.

Followed by a choice of two identical accounts. No matter which one I chose, I get:
Page Unavailable

An unexpected error occurred. We will investigate this problem as soon as possible — please check back soon!

This happens on all author pages I tried recently:

I started a thread about this a few days ago.
I contacted support and was told they are aware of the situation and that the developers are working on it.
There were a few times when a second profile with the exact same name was created. Support merged them for me.

The message I got from support was:

Thanks for contacting us. Our developers are aware of error message when trying to merge author profile and I've added your report to the developer ticket and I'll let you know once it's been resolved.

Which shows they either didn't read my report or can't tell the difference between editing an author page and merging an author page. Whichever is the case, I hope this gets resolved soon, as author page edits are piling up.

This seems to have been fixed.

They definitely can't tell the different. I asked them to fix the error in author profile by giving them sample of 1 author with 3 different language profiles. I requested them to add link to each profile in the biography field. Instead of solving the edit problem, the staff merged the profiles. Lucky it is, the problem is fixed after their reply.

Well, for me theres still a problem with authors pages. It's still the same thing for few past days. Pages don't merge and i got at least 2 authors with 2 exactly same "name". In one case i can't even add a new book do any od this duplicated profiles. When i do that error msg coming up: "Author name lower has already been taken". Duh, I KNOW... there's 2 same ones.

It was fixed for most of yesterday, but no longer. The last one I did without issue was 9 hours ago. Then I stopped for the night. I guess I should have kept going until I finished the name I am working on. Hopefully, it will not take another 5 days to rectify again.

I rechecked, and I have no problem editing author pages, which is the issue I reported to begin with.

It stopped working for about 3 hours and then was fixed again.
At this point I think the bots are just messing with us.
