Anya is enjoying a relaxing bath when she hears a noise coming from the ceiling. Through the open bathroom door, she sees the attic hatch swing down, and a masked figure drops to the floor. Thirty seconds later, Anya is dead.

Across town, Anya's old school friend, Julia, sees an online video of a masked figure climbing out of an attic. She suddenly realizes why the footage is eerily familiar: it was filmed inside her house in a luxury gated community, designed to keep intruders out.

And now your worst fears are coming true.

Why would a stranger target Julia? Unless of course, it's not a stranger at all.

Page 98, thru Chapter 20. (view spoiler)[ So Anya is dead. Appears a guy in the attic did it. There was a program about it but it seems like someone has taken it further and turned it into something real. Isla and family moved to Europe from CA due to something that happened to/with Isla. I'm confused by Eleanor seeing the house for the first time in Chapter 20 but she had been there that night after Anya died. A little confusing. Oh, and there are several references to their friend Donna dyeing when they were kids. (hide spoiler)]

Page 206, thru Chapter 46. (view spoiler)[ Well, so Donna's death was an accident but it was because the 3 friends left her at a party where she was drunk. Anya reportedly told the other 2 that Donna left and that she saw her get in a taxi, but that was a lie. I would think her brother would be feeling guilty too as she called him but he said he couldn't hear her so I didn't pick her up. Still don't know what Isla did to Riley back in CA but it almost got Riley killed. Also don't know what the heck is going on with Gabe or Tony (the next door neighbor who is not missing). Lots of stuff going on. I think it's Donna's brother who is haunting the 2 ladies and who killed Anya. (hide spoiler)]

Finished. (view spoiler)[ I liked that everything was all wrapped up at the end and there weren't any loose ends. I did enjoy the read and my only criticism is that I don't understand why no one thought to install their own security devices. (hide spoiler)]

I agree, Donna dying - we don't have any details yet
but could these new deaths have something to do with something they did as kids?

and Yes! Isla and this Riley girl. At first, I thought Riley had attempted and/or completed suicide and I was so sad and thought they would shield her from that but maybe it's something different?

This is a bit slower than I thought it would be. I can't believe how many times we've heard about the guy upstairs and about videos being filmed IN THEIR HOUSE and no one is taking it seriously?!?!

Something about Eleanor is weird. Is she behind all of this?

what was with a $3K payout that Gabe was dodgy about?

and what is with Allistair? Was it HIS ear bud up in the attic? He's weirdly clingy enough that it would be him but why? Why watch this family? (hide spoiler)]

So now I'm wondering - is Drew or Aliistair possible Ian, Donna's brother? Is that who is getting revenge? What did they do to her?
and is Gabe somehow paying someone off?

or is he still battling with Riley?

(view spoiler)[ *sigh* if she'd just CALL THE COPS at the moment they were experiencing the footsteps. If she'd call every night when they hear them. Or if she'd set up HER OWN cameras. Good lord, so many EASY ways for her to figure out instead of just ignoring her son.

so Drew is Andrew. . .he must be the one up there. But Tony - did he see Drew? Or did Tony see Gabe doing something? What could Gabe be doing?? and what's with the attorney's and taking the money?

Donna's death was such a horrible tragedy - but Anya was a shit friend for having then all leave her behind. What an a-hole

oh and who's baby scan was that? Was that Anya? And Gabe? But Anya died right in the beginning of the story - so who else could it be? I don't think Eleanor. . . (hide spoiler)]

I wanted to throw this book

it makes sense it was Allistair. He was constantly making everyone uncomfortable.

I found his reasoning to be a bit of a stretch but meh, people have killed for less. But what a weird, elaborate way to go about it.

I was shocked about Heather and I was glad Gabe won. I love that they settled there and their kids got comfy

but OMG I agree, why did they not set up their own recording equipment? Why didn't she EVER EVER EVER EVER believe her son? He was so detailed. All she had to do was keep calling and calling. Ugh (hide spoiler)]
