Kim (kimkienzle) | 74 comments Shafak has a beautiful way with words. The first 200+ pages were wonderful. The characters were subtly intertwined, the description was lovely and the story captured my attention. The final third of the book was much different. I didn’t like the dark turn the book took, the change in tone or the direction it took. That kept if from being 5 stars
