Nil crouched in front of the cabinet, removed a roll of gauze and medical scissors. "Jeez, Kate, didn't Chiron tell you to stay away from the Myrmeke's lair?" He stood, teasing her with a grin. He didn't care what she did, of course, seeing as Kate was a strong camper from the Ares cabin. She could defend herself. Nil walked over as Katie replied, mumbling something about how they'd taken more gold from the Hephaestus cabin.
Nil began to bandage her up now, the cut on her thigh cleaned and ready to be wrapped.
This was stupid. That was all that Finn thought as he was dragged by the arm to in infirmary by a camp counselor. He had only fallen. No big deal. Besides the bad scratch down his left arm from his elbow to his thumb and the small cuts on his knees and right cheek, he saw no need to go to the infirmary for medical attention. However, blood was blood. The second he stepped foot inside he lowered his head.
"He's hurt." Said the camp counselor blandly, giving Finn a harsh side eye before turning around to leave.
Finn sat down on an empty cot, absently playing with the ring on his finger. "It's not that big a deal. Just fell while trying to get a Herme's kid to give me back my shoes. That's all." He murmured with a slightly annoyed tone. "Even though the thorny bush didn't make a comfortable landing."
Nil, being the only doctor in the infirmary today, figured they were talking to him. Kate's leg was finished being bandaged as he glanced back, "Just a second." He turned back to the camper, "Don't get the wrap wet. Come back tomorrow to get it replaced, and for the love of gods, quit getting bit by those big ants." He sighed, standing up to face the counselor and another boy. The counselor left before Nil could even say anything.
"Hi," Nil said to the camper as he sat on the cot. "How'd you manage all this from a fall..?" Nil raised an eyebrow, grabbing antiseptics from the nearby med cart.
Finn opened his mouth to respond but couldn't find anything to say. He closed his mouth again and gave Nil a small shrug. He watched as Kate left then allowed his head to bow again. Finn hated having to explain himself, let alone admit it wasn't just a fall. "Thorn bush," he repeated with a sigh. He had seen Nil around camp before. He heard how he was a great healer. It was interesting to actually talk to him though, for some reason.
Finn picked a small leaf off of his head, smoothing out his hair with his fingers before proceeding to fluff it back up.
Nil chuckled, "I've tripped into a thorn bush once. It wasn't pretty, but it wasn't that," he joked. "But, if you want to call it a thorn bush..." He shrugged before pulling the blue nitrile gloves on. Nil addressed the smaller scratches first, cleaning and bandaging when necessary.
"Do you want it to scar?" He asked, gesturing to the deeper cuts on his face and knees. "If you don't, I'll give you nectar. If you do, I'll just clean it and bandage it like any normal doctor would."
Finn allowed Nil to clean up his cuts without fussing. He also ignored what Nil said altogether. It did sting a bit, but he didn't seem to mind. Then, at the question he finally fully looked at Nil. "I don't want it to scar. It'd look weird." He raised an eyebrow. "Why would I want it to scar? That's a weird question." Finn crossed his ankles.
A small grin crept up on his face as he he took a jar of ambrosia squares, picking one up and passing it to him. Nil subconsciously glanced to his own scars from the battle in Manhattan many years ago. Why had he kept them?
“I don’t know,” he admitted. “Some people like them as… like a trophy, or something.” Nil dabbed the wound with antiseptic, the bleeding stopping immediately. He put the larger bandaids on them and then moved to eye level with Finn. “It’s not deep, so it won’t need stitches,” Nil decided, “but the ambrosia will heal that one on its own.”
He cautiously took the piece of ambrosia. He plopped it into his mouth, savoring the sweet flavor of strawberry jam that spread on his tongue. It was weird that was the taste he got from ambrosia, he couldn't put a finger on why. He swallowed and kept looking at Nil.
"Well, I don't think it would be a trophy if I got them from someone shoving me into a bush. Among other stupid things." He murmured, "Anyways, thank you. You're nice. I'm Finn, you're Nil right?" The way he spoke was anything but enthusiastic and was very forward; he glossed over the fact he had just admitted he had someone else cause his scratches.
”Pushed?” He questioned, before pulling off the gloves and disposing it in the past. “I don’t know; those are just the answers I’ve gotten in the past,” Nil said simply. “No problem. It’s what I do,” he offered Finn a gentle smile. “Nice to meet you- although it would’ve been better under other circumstances. But uh- Yeah, that’s me. How’d you know?”
"I basically know everyone at camp basically exists. And you're one of the best healers or something." He glanced at his now bandaged knee. "I think it's cool you have healing abilities and skills. I know so many Apollo kids that wish they could do that." Finn returned his smile, but a little less. "And the pushing thing is whatever. Hermes kids, you know?"
His face darkened, a pink hue covering his tanned skin. “I wouldn’t say that-“ Nil cleared his throat. “The powers are pretty cool.. Sucks they drain me, though.” He rubbed the back of his neck as Finn complimented him. “Honestly, Hermes kids are the worst! I had to sleep in their cabin for a few days… Never again.” He almost shuddered at the thought.
"I get that whenever I try to shadow travel. I can't do it at all. I mean, I can't even go an inch without getting all dizzy and passing out." Finn seemed a little more comfortable now, and it had only taken a few minutes. "I still admire healing though." He took a moment to take in Nil's appearance. He seemed a little transfixed on his curly strawberry-blonde hair. That was what stood out most to him. It was a pretty color, but he kept that to himself. "I never had to sleep in the Herme's cabin. I got claimed right away. But I've heard stories before."
(Okay, now that you say that I see the resemblance. Watch, I'll make Finn act like Nico lmfao AND i legit forgot Nico existed)
(yay!!!)
(wait hes a child of hypnos?)
”Shadow traveling? So you’re either a Hypnos or Hades’ kid, yeah?” He asked. Despite being over fifty years old, greek mythological powers wasn’t his strong suite. “Hopefully you don’t know about the glowing hair, then,” Nil muttered. He glanced over, “You’re lucky, then. Most gods don’t do it that fast.”
"Yeah, I'm Hypno's kid." With a small shrug, Finn added, "Yeah, I know. I'm not sure why he claimed me so quickly. Maybe because he doesn't have a million children like Athena or Hemes or whatever." He gave a clicked his tongue. "Also, glowing hair is sick. I don't know why people think it's weird."
”You know, that’s surprising. I thought Hypnos kids were more… tired.” Nil admitted with a short chuckle. “People don’t think it’s weird, I mean, have you seen some of the powers these kids posses? They just find it freaky. I like it. It’s like I’m Rapunzel.”
"Well, I'm not exactly the most energetic person in the world." He replied quietly. "Yeah. Freaky. Weird, odd. All of this is odd. Rapunzel is my favorite Disney movie so you're lucky."
"So the stervotvpes are real," Nil cleaned up the mess of medical supplies from earlier. Seeing as it was getting late, there shouldn't be injuries that needed his help. "Odd is one word for it." Nil had over four decades to understand how odd things were and it was still a major headache figuring it out. "Mine too!" He beamed, "I love it so much."
"Well I guess if your godly parent is mainly the god of sleep and dreams his kids would be somewhat short on energy. It's stupid. It just means I get good sleep, but then every so once in a while a bad dream. Stupid warnings or whatever." He watched Nil clean up, he thought about offering to help but found himself too lazy. "Yeah, it was the first Disney movie I ever watched I think. It's like a comfort movie for me."
Nil smiled slightly, "I know a thing or two about bad dreams." He closed up the first aid kit and put it in the closet. "Mine was the fox and hound. I probably watched it about a million times because it was the only VHS tape we owned."
"VHS tape? Wow, old." This was supposed to sound like a joke or a teasing statement but it came out the opposite. More direct, and more serious. He didn't bother correcting that, though. "But yeah. That movie made me sad when I was younger. Dunno why, the setting was just sad."
Nil felt a twinge in his heart; he really was old. He snorted out a laugh, "VHS, veah. Got a problem with it?" Nil teased Finn in response. "Oh, gods, it was sad, don't get em wrong! But it so good."
"No problem. Just that I don't even think I've ever even touched one of those things." He stands up, ignoring the dull pain that still lingered. "Well, I should probably leave you to do whatever Apollo kids do."
Nil laughed, "I don't blame you." He watched Finn get up, "Oh, right! Sorry, I didn't mean to keep talking. Besides, I had nothing else to do besides sleep off all the excitement of fixing people up," Nil joked.

After a chaotic walk (get it? Cause Arthurs the son of- okay not funny carry on!) Ivy finally arrived drained from using the levitating spell for 10 minutes! Naturally, she can't do spells forever without getting tired but she expected this to be a cakewalk!
She entered the infirmary and dropped Arthur on a sofa. "Hello?" Ivy called out, hoping someone was here. She did not plan on spending her entire day dealing with Arthur. Note to self: Never sit at the Momus table again Ivy.

A teenager no older than 15 came around the corner, "What?"

Ivy sighed in relief. "This is..." Ivy wanted to say "my friend" but would she even consider him her friend? Then again she brought him all the way over here, but then again that's what decent human beings do.
"This is a random boy I found." Ivy lied. Why did she lie? Because the teenager gave her anxiety, she wished he'd just take the boy and let her leave.
"He seems to be in pain, and suddenly grew bird wings." She explained. That wasn't a lie, she wondered to mention she thought she killed him. Then again she couldn't have cause she didn't even touch him. Ugh, Ivy, why'd you have to be so complicated?

Ivy raised an eyebrow. She never knew much about Arthur besides that he's the son of Momus, did Momus have wings? She didn't know much about his dad either apparently. "Erm, maybe? Can you help him?"

"Who is his godly parent?" he repeated, "A grandparent that's a god maybe? Did he mention any?"

"Oh! Uh, yeah, I think he said, Momus?" She said quickly.

"Uh, y-yeah. He uh, chaos- it follows him?" She mumbled. Speak Ivy, Speak! "I'm pretty sure he's the son of chaos, or maybe the grandson...I-I can't recall."
