If you want to have friends from GR find you, say so here! Questions about how the group operates before you join? This is also the place.

No, he's not, do not send a user named spartacus a friend request.
(Look at Ryan getting me to post on gr again!)

Yes, since there are few notifications (you only receive an in-app notification if someone directly replies to your post, no push notifications or notifications for other posts), discussion in the forums is quite limited. I am positive this will change when we get more notifications. The readalongs are quite active, though.

Should we only have 4 books in our polls?

Yes, that is correct. Unfortunately, StoryGraph currently only allows up to 4 books in a poll and polls can run from 1 to 7 days. We have tried the current system for the past few months and we make the outcome of both polls transparent for you in this thread. We have been discussing other options (limiting both polls to 4 books, running both polls for a week instead of two weeks on goodreads, amongst others) and will probably tweak the system in the future and test something else to find out what works best.
That means your feedback on this is very important to us in deciding what works for us as a club reading together! So please keep telling us what you think and if you have any preferences.

So if the book I voted for on Goodreads is in fifth place after a week
I might want to change it to one of the top 4 to have an impact on the poll?

It logical to mirror the polls as closely as you can, if you are running the same polls on GR and Storygraph.
My preference would be to keep the number of book candidates to 4, to more closely match each other. It makes more sense that 4/5.
For the timeframe, I would keep the current one week Storygraph, and two week GR. One week sometimes just isn't enough time, with our busy, real lives, to get to GR and do some real research and thinking about each book before voting. Storygraph users can log in to GR and vote for their favorite book here if they missed the one-week deadline on their favorite site.
