❡MaRisa (risamareads) | 9 comments Last Year I participated in the El Toro Mount TBR Challenge, and I read way more from my TBR than that so I decided to upgrade this year ✨

My Physical TBR Shelf

I'll be reading books from this shelf for this, there should be all the books apart from my nonfiction reference books. If I read or am reading a book from this list, it won't be in it anymore since I only put my unread physical TBR there. My digital TBR doesn't have a shelf.

Read
Krieg und Frieden by Leo Tolstoy
I had read most of it in 2024, but I still count it towards this challenge.
Red Winter The Complete Trilogy by Annette Marie
That one set me back into my Inuyasha phase as a teen. Really liked it, but I love Annette Marie's other series a bit more.
Fragile Heart by Mona Kasten
I was a little disappointed in this second book of the series. I am generally someone who doesn't like contemporary romance books about the same couple going on for more than one book, but I really love the author and I was expecting more. It was also heavy about mental health and I somehow don't like it when both parties of the couple struggle with it.

Read
Lady Midnight (Die dunklen Mächte #1) by Cassandra Clare
I couldn't really get into it, though I did like some characters. I already have the second book on my physical tbr and both the second and third on audio, so I will continue the series. But not as fun as the other series in the Shadowhunter-verse I read.
The Gilded Cage (The Prison Healer, #2) by Lynette Noni
I don't know why, but I was reluctant to start this book because the first one kind of ended with me having mixed feelings about where the story was going. I really loved it, and I did buy the third and last book after finishing this 🫣
Eine Fackel im Dunkel der Nacht (Elias & Laia, #2) by Sabaa Tahir / A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes, #2) by Sabaa Tahir
I switched between the audio and physical edition, funny thing is that my audio is in german and printed edition is in english xD It was fun though
Höllenkönig by James Abbott
This one was kind of boring. It had potential and somewhat interesting characters and I liked the writing.

❡MaRisa (risamareads) | 9 comments I already failed this year's climb, and I won't get much further than this. I don't do book buying bans so I ended up reading my newly bought books instead of my Mount TBR eligible ones. I didn't buy as many new books as last year though, and a lot of them are preorders. Anyways, I will not be taking a lot of new books with me on my TBR next year since I'm reading them now xD I regret picking the Mt. Everest to climb though. I won't get anywhere near that goal this year, unfortunately.
