Squirrel | 3 comments Encountered this book in the Folsom, CA library, read it, laughed, and completely forgot the name of the author and the book! Read this between 1996 and 2001, book likely written after the 1960s.

In the opening paragraphs, a man who owns a house and the field next to it was somehow involved in magic or witchcraft maybe? He's planted the field with catnip, attracting all the stray cats. For some reason he wanted to annoy the neighbors.

The rest of the book is average, but that section is gold! Please help, it was such a smile!

Thought it might be Robert Lynn Aspirin or Terry Pratchett, but couldn't find anything close searching those authors.
