Just happened to notice that in the Yellow Pages for my city there's numerous local companies providing asphalt.

The names of some of these local firms?

Burnett. Burnett Asphalt Co.

Geez. Can you stand it?

Greenstreet's Weight Loss Clinic
proprietor: Sidney Greenstreet

Let me ask a question..........are the businesses' supposed to connected to films/actors or actual businesses?

What is the difference between a business which is 'connected' or no? The minor step of concocting a business name?

In the above example, you might have written
'Greenstreet Weight Loss'

or something like

'Fat Man Weight Loss Clinic', est 1941, proprietor S. Greenstreet'

The version you decide on, still works. They're all okay with me, [although I think a little extra-spin-on-the-ball never hurts.]

This is the kind of effective, but certainly low-gear humor one sees in Bugs Bunny cartoons. Bugs is always passing by some storefront with an in-joke in the signage.
