Hi Ella, I'm jumping in here so you don't have to wait until Kat gets up in the morning. 😃The quick answer to the important part of your question is yes, that book will qualify for that task.

As far as the series rule goes, it just means that if you are at a different point in a series than the book you want to use as a qualifier, you can use that book but read the one that is next for you. For example, if none of the mods had read Match Me If You Can but had read It Had to Be You (Book 1 in the Chicago Stars series) you would be able to use that as a qualifier for your book. Hopefully that makes sense (it's late and I'm tired) but if not I'm sure Kat will expand on it a bit to make it clearer.

Sorry for the delay in responding. Series rule means that you could read a book earlier or later in a series of the book you are using to qualify for a task. So for example, if I had only read book #1 of a series, all the books in that series would qualify using the series rule. You would be free to read whatever book you were at in the series.

But because I read the actual book you are planning to read, you don't need the series rule - Match Me If You Can qualifies on it's own.

Well, if I had clicked forward I wouldn't have had to type out my own answer! 😂

For a spin off series to work, you would need to find a series page that includes the spin off. Something like:

https://www.goodreads.com/series/3466...

OR

https://www.goodreads.com/series/3005...

Often the main series page will continue to include the spin offs for continuity. Similar to:

https://www.goodreads.com/series/4145...

Yes. (At least that looks like it on my phone.) I just need t see enough to determine it works. It looks like the gas tank and handle bars are clearly shown.

Thanks Kat. I wasn't sure because you mentioned in the task no pictures of the vehicle & I didn't want to misunderstand again.

Every teammate needs to participate in every task, but are allowed one pass per round. The task needs to be completed either way. If you have completed the task without one teammate, that teammate has the option to either finish a book that qualifies or to use their pass.

That will work - the task does say 'real or mythical'.

MountainKat | 31599 comments Laura wrote: "For the task 6 books in the same sub-genre, if we decide on contemporary romance, does it need to be MPG contemporary, or will a contemporary tag work?"

It would ideally be MPG, but that isn't required.
