Q&A:
Q: Can teammates read the same book for a task?
A: There are a couple of tasks where the team needs to read different books, but if it doesn't specifically say that you are free to read the same book.
Q: Are audio only books allowed for this challenge?
A: If the audio only book is at least 6 hours long - it will count as a book towards a book total or as 150 pages towards the page total depending on what the task requires.
Q: What are the rules if the book is so bad you can’t finish it?
A: I will accept DNFs if you read to the minimum page count of this challenge (150 p.) AND 70% of the book. Books need to be a minimum of 250 pages using the first edition Kindle page count. You must also state that the book is a DNF and explain why in your completion, including the page number you finished on as well. The page you finished on would be the number counted for tasks that ask the team to read a certain number of pages.

Remember you need to be able to show how you know where the book is set. It can't be something within the book, it needs to be something I can find here on GR.

The only requirement I have is if you want to provide a specific shelf to may the recommendations from, think PIFM or M&G, there has to be a minimum of 10 books on the shelf.
Hey Kat, For 1. Each player reads a book by the same author, teams decide author - no pass for this task. If the author writes under multiple names, I assume we have to read a book with the chosen name as author, but how about if GR only shows one of the names as author on the book page but the other name is on the cover? Example: Naked in Death only has J.D. Robb as an author on GR, but the cover shows "Nora Roberts writing as J.D. Robb".

That isn't a trope, it is a sub-genre. A trope would be something like fake dating, marriage of convenience or secret baby. So no, but you can use it for another task.

Signups for this round closed on Earth Day. Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 every year. It is a worldwide event to raise awareness for environmental issues and encourage protection of the planet. To honor Earth Day, read a book with a 22 (combined, not separated) in the initial publication date OR read a book with both green AND blue on the cover, teams decide. If using the publication date option, make sure you use the initial publication date. If there is a date at the top of the editions page - use it! Otherwise, I will be looking for the earliest dated English language edition regardless of format for the qualification. Please include the initial publication date in your completion posts. If using the cover option, the qualifying covers need to have both blue AND green on the cover. They do not have to be the primary colors, but both must be present. You can use any edition’s cover as your qualification. Please include the qualifying cover in your completion posts. If in doubt, please ask.
