15.2 Here or There?
North America and Europe both have a variety of parks with beautiful landscapes, unique ecosystems and great history.
For this task visit this website https://www.britannica.com/topic/list... or this website:
Here you can see the national parks around the world.

Book 1: Using the North American parks, read a book whose title (subtitles are excluded) contains a word from the name one of the parks. Word must be exact and excludes the words Of, The, National and Park.
and
Book 2: Using the Europe parks read a book whose title (subtitles are excluded) contains all the letters of the complete name of one parks. The words National and Park may be excluded.
Required: State the country and park name for each book

Amy | 2175 comments Is there a minimum number of letters for the word in Book 1? I wanted to use BIG from Big Bend, but wasn't sure if the word had to be at least 4 letters long.

Just checking my understanding. For book 2 - would My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry work, using Sarek National Park?

Correct, that does work :)

Katrisa | 1410 comments For book 2 if there are more than one of a letter in the park name - like Brecon Beacon you only have to have 1 B and 1 C in your chosen book title right? The letters have to be present but you don't have to spell the entire park name, correct?

you have to use all the letters in the chosen word, but you only have to use one word of the park name.

So yes for brecon beacons you would use brecon or beacons and only use the letters of that word.

JennRenee, this answer doesn't seem to match how the task is written. Can you please clarify further?

The task says that for Book 1 the title should contain "a word" from a North American park and that for Book 2 the title should contain "all the letters of the complete name" of a European park.

Katrisa's question was in relation to Book 2, using Brecon Beacons (in the UK). Your answer says that the letters of only one word is needed for Book 2. If this is accurate can the task be updated to say that only one word is needed, not the complete name?

sorry about my previous answer. I was not quite awake this morning.
All the letters would need to be present.
if there are are multiple of one letter, there does need to be multiple of that letter.

so for Brecon Beacons 2 b, 2c, 2n, 2o, and 2e plus the single letters need to present.

Do diacritical marks count too? Like in Ecrins National Park the E has an accent. Do we have to have an E with an accent?

Susan A | 1691 comments Strange question....I was going to post my completion, but I always double check before I do so. I chose Gesäuse National Park (Austria) for Option 2 -- a place I'd never heard of before, but I can't find it on the link any more. When I access the link, there are a lot of blank spaces. Also, there are only a few European Countries listed. Is this park included?

If it is not, the task reads "Using the Europe Map". I don't see a map. I see a table of contents, I click on Europe and get a list of parks from France, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and UK. No other European countries. Is this the right list?

Can you confirm that these work? I'm not sure I'm using the site correctly

1. Bull Mountain - MOUNTAIN - Rocky Mountain National Park

2. The Misfits of Copper County - Ecrins National Park - The MiSfIts of CoppER CouNty

These work.

The original site that was used for this task was take down days after this posted. So a replacement had to be found quickly.

The original website seems to be back up, It has a few more parks on it. You can use either park.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 4449 comments Question re Book 1

The Park is listed as Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park ... with an apostrophe.

Must the book title ALSO use the apostrophe? Or would Hawaii work as an exact match word?

symbols can be ignored. This book would work for exact match.
