Challenge Corner discussion

Alexandra grew up hungry. Hungry for food, hungry for safety, hungry for love. Which is why she's worked so hard to have it a beautiful home, a gorgeous doctor boyfriend, and an ambitious job matching individuals with... unconventional emotional responses. Sure, her clients may sit somewhere on the psychopathy scale. But they're not the dangerous, murderous kind. They're doctors, lawyers, teachers, and everyone deserves love.

And that's exactly what Alex thinks she's found. Love. So she's floored when she arrives to her dinner with her boyfriend, expecting a ring in a little box, and instead finding her best friend sat at the table with him. They have news. They're together now. And apparently her birthday dinner is the best time to share the news.

Suddenly, Alex's world implodes. She has lost the two people in the world closest to her, her only support. She's utterly alone, her future in pieces. So when she unexpectedly bumps into a client, Rebecca, and Rebecca seems to want to be friends, it feels like a lifeline.

But then Alex's now ex turns up dead, then more people around her seem to be dropping like flies. And she can't help but wonder if this new friendship is a match made in hell.

I do too! We may have gotten a bit too ambitious with these past couple of months. I know we'll get to them...but when!? I'm starting the Marigold one tomorrow and hoping for Starving Saints this weekend, and then the Holly Jackson and then this one...LOL

okay, so we know she's a psychopath right? she doesn't really seem to want or need people, she just needs the appearance of them. she hasn't even really missed Noah, just that she's lost the image of him and their relationship

and I like Aiden more and I'm glad he was straight with her the same night he met her - now that he's saved her. But we still don't know who killed Noah ! Could she have done that? the night she ate the casserole and drank too much?!?!

I finally started! I got to like Ch 15 or 16, around 46%, I'm really enjoying it!!

haha!! Yes! I love just about any/all horror- it has to get pretty bizarre for me to not like it!

I felt the same, totally (view spoiler)[shocked by the confession, but yeah, I think they're destined to become her parents. It started one way for her parents too, and then escalated...they're both way to comfy taking a life. (hide spoiler)]

Done! This was cute. It was definitely different. I never felt over the top attached or swoony over anything, but it definitely captured my attention and held it, because I never knew where itvwas gonna go.

There was a while where I was thinking (view spoiler)[Rebecca and Aidan were working together and that they were recreating her parents relationship and she was going to be the innocent girl in their clutches 😝 turned out she was very far from innocent! (hide spoiler)]
