Su Hyun Nam | 1 comments Catch-22 is a psychological paradox in which the solution to solving the problem is the problem itself, creating a situation that is impossible to solve. The term was coined in the very book Catch-22, a satirical war novel following an American bomb squadron in Italy during World War II.

The book itself is meant to be absurd. It's absurd in its characters, absurd in its dialogue, and does an absolutely great job at highlighting the absurdity of war, because what isn't absurd about the idea of millions of men enlisting to fight a war for politicians who holler commands from the comfort of their own homes?

It's a hilarious book that will have you smiling at each page. At times, it can feel repetitive, but I think that only adds to the nature of the book itself. Definitely give it a shot.
