Winter (winter9) | 4998 comments Hi everyone!

Time to nominate books for November! The theme is Pets.

~Please remember to state a connection to the theme when you nominate.

~Books we have read less than three years ago are not eligible. To see which books are not eligble, see this google sheet:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

~ Each person can nominate 1 book.

~ Book must be available both as a physical copy and as an ebook.

~ Authors: Please do not nominate your own book.

~ Please do not nominate books that are part of a series, unless it is the first book.

~ You can second someone else's nomination, but that will count as your nomination.

This thread will be closed by September 25th, and we will choose ten books for the poll. If there are more than ten books nominated, we will choose "seconded" books first. If there is still a tie to get into the top ten, we'll go back to the Goodreads average rating to see which is highest.

Mehak | 3 comments I nominate “The Travelling Cat Chronicles” by Hiro Arikawa.

Travelling Cat is short, tender, and beautifully written — a quiet road trip story of a man and his cat that touches on friendship, memory, and love without being heavy.

I second this one. It’s a beautiful book.

Emily (egm926) | 739 comments I nominate Pet Sematary by Stephen King. The connection is the titular pet "sematary" where neighborhood pets are laid to rest and surely nothing sinister or unsettling happens.

message 6: by Carrie (new)

Carrie | 348 comments I second Pet Sematary, mainly because I never turn down an opportunity to read Stephen King.

I second this one. It's on my TBR list.

M | 338 comments I'd like to nominate All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot

When I think of pets in literature, I think of this book. The stories of the beloved veterinarian caring for so many pets (patients).

I'll second this one. My late father highly recommended Herriot, yet this is still on my TBR.

message 10: by Susan, Games & Events (new)

Susan | 591 comments I'd like to nominate The Art of Racing in the Rain, a story about Enzo and his race car driving owner. Point of view from the Enzo, the dog.
