This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For | 949 comments Librarians, as of last night/this morning, GR has added a new "Edition" field to book entries. This is the place where we can now store information that really doesn't belong in the title nor the binding, such as "10th anniversary edition", "large print", "author's preferred edition", "abridged" or whatever.

An example is this version of The Da Vinci Code. Originally the title of this book was: "The Da Vinci Code (Special Illustrated Edition)". Now the title is just "The Da Vinci Code" and "Special Illustrated Edition" (which is entered in the new edition field) shows up as part of the details (in between binding and # of pages).

We should add info about this to the librarian manual.

*adds to list*

This Is Not The Michael You're Looking For | 949 comments I wish I could take credit for it, but I'm not a GoodReads employee and didn't actually do the work to make it happen.

Although...it was originally my idea, so I will take some credit for it :-)
