Catamorandi (wwwgoodreadscomprofilerandi) | 1045 comments I finally finished Blink. It was very interesting in the beginning, but quickly became very boring. The first two chapters set up the stage for the whole rest of the book (which was decoration). He told the same story five or more times in one chapter and then referred to them over and over again in other chapters.

Here are the books I have read so far in 2010:

1. The Secret Life of Bees - 3/5
2. The Graveyard Book - 5/5
3. Blink - 2/5

Bhumi | 524 comments Good luck! 75 books is certainly a large amount. You must read pretty quickly (unlike myself).

It is a very enjoyable read. It is very creative and fanciful. I do, however, think that Lewis Carroll was on drugs when he was writing it. It sounds like it is coming from a drug-induced fog. I really enjoyed all of the characters. They were all so silly. I can see what someone in another group I am in said it was for kids and adults, and each will get something different out of it. I agree with that wholeheartly.

I thought this was kind of an in and out book. It waivered between interesting and good to dull and boring. The characters were all great. I loved Phoebe. I think she was my favorite. It is about a girl searching for her mother. It is a heart-wrenching story. It was actually not bad. I am not at all convinced that it should have won a Newberry award.

I couldn't even finish the book. It took me 3 1/2 weeks to get 1/3 of the way through it. I found it flat with flat, alcoholic characters.

This is my first ride with Andi and her friends, and it was an enjoyable one. It is about things not always going as planned, about growing up fast, about sibling love, about the strong love of friends, and about justice. I thought it was a very well-planned, well-thought out story. The characters were all good, and they all grew, especially Andi, Cory, and Jenny. The one character that my mind imagined as cardboard was the deputy, but even he was a good, necessary character. Throughout the majority of the story, I thought nothing could get much worse, but it did. There were two or three twists in the story that kept people guessing. I read it in two nights, and not for very long the first night (fell asleep). It is really a rather action-packed little story. I felt, though, that there were also a few rather predictable parts of it also. All in all, I definitely think I will join Andi and her friends on another ride sometime soon.
