My family is definitely fed up with my book talk 😅 I discovered my love for books last year and it’s become an addiction since then. I love thrillers, mystery, romance, historical fiction, just give me a good story.

I'm getting addicted to book challenges! I usually read genre fiction but there's so much more

Greetings, all!

Call me Truitt or Tru (she/her). I live in the US (Georgia). I normally read a bit of everything, but the last few years have been mainly reading a lot of escapist novels. No harm in that, and it has served me well in times of stress, but I'm expanding my reading horizons again.

I joined GR in late 2020, but I have my books logged back through 2019. 2020-2022 were definitely abnormal reading years for me - 2019 is probably closer to what my reading will be like in 2023. But who knows?

I've joined the Quarterly Series Challenge, and January's Wordle Challenge. And I really hope there's a 2023 version of the Be Intentional Yearly Challenge, because I'm definitely in for that.

I look forward to getting to know some of you - and to see what you're reading.

Welcome Julia!! What's your favorite genre of music, movies and/or books? Crochet sounds pretty cool - my mom loves to knit. I do not have the patience for it though. Well, not right now.. maybe later in life lol.

Welcome!! How far are you into med school? Do you know what you want to study specifically? I honestly know nothing medically unless you count wedmd (for fun) or watching every episode of grey's anatomy (lol).

Welcome welcome!! I also truly love reading... but right now? I truly do not like writing reviews lol. It has been a huge struggle trying to get those done which is beyond bizarre. Maybe one day I will just randomly knock a huge chunk of those out. Today is not that day.

Welcome!! I learned how to play the piano at 3 and stopped before high school - I think? Mostly because my teacher was moving away, and I just didn't want to start with someone new. Plus, ya know school and soccer were taking over my life as well.

I always enjoy meeting other pianists! It’s really cool that you learned for a couple years.

My name is Jessica, and I am an accountant at a public accounting firm which interferes with my addiction to reading from January 15th to April 15th, but I still try to read at least 3 books during those months. I love reading fiction, historical fiction, mystery, thrillers, true crime, some YA and even a little fantasy. I can't get into non-fiction, science fiction or anything vampire. I live in Minnesota, love to travel, check out craft fairs with my mom and listen to music. I have lived in Europe and the UK as a military spouse and grew up with country music being a big part of my life because my dad played the bass guitar by ear in various bands. I enjoy all types of music except rap and reggae.

I’m kinda getting the hang of Good Reads (even tho it’s been Installed on my phone for AGES)- I love reading (duh)- but mainly action, thrillers, fantasy (BUT I’m trying to read all sorts including classics!) .. apart from that, I love to watch movies, do a little bit of art and try out different and new things to make my life awesome!

Hi, I'm Leanne. New in GR since November 10th or so. Getting a hand of the lingo, groups and many many challenges. When I'm not reading, I'm crocheting, working with resin, and garden in the summer. I have been retired for 8 years, and now I wonder how I had time to work. I've been a reader my entire life, and it's much better now that there's more time. I read most types of books, but not so fond of romances. Looking forward to being more involved in 2024.

Movies are always tricky for me when it comes to books. Well I guess tv shows too because it just keeps my “want to read ASAP” list growing and growing. I just recently watched a show, that got cancelled unfortunately, but I had no idea it was a book series!! So I obviously need to try and find those books next year.

Have you read any good classics yet? Or will you try one or two in the new year?

Omg welcome back to the book reading world! I feel like I’m a semi mood reader lately due to work projects landing into a huge pile on my desk. I try to switch up genres so I don’t get easily bored but then I run into the whole I want to read it really badly… just not now. Horrible feeling (for me) 😂
