message 1002: by Krystyna (new)

Krystyna (adoseofcozy) | 2 comments Hey, book besties! I'm Krystyna, librarian by day and book nerd by night..well all the time I guess haha...books are basically my entire existence. I love physical books and audiobooks but I'm definitely a Kindle girlie! My preferred genres are fantasy and romance but I read a bit of everything.

When I'm not working or actively reading, I love posting cozy, bookish content on the socials. Besides my book obsession, I'm into writing, binging movies/TV shows, and gaming. I also love to travel but I'm a total homebody – nothing beats a cozy night with a good book.

I love chatting about books and making new bookish friends who love reading as much as I do.

message 1003: by liv ౨ৎ (new)

liv ౨ৎ Hi! I'm Olivia. I'm from Spain and I love reading. I predominantly read fantasy and mystery but I've read all kind of genres. I like to write, paint and I also play a couple instruments (double bass and elecric bass). I have my headphones on 24/7 and love all kinds of music!

Anyways, I really enjoy talking about books and I'm excited for this!

I’m honestly just now re-entering my reading era. I hate that I ever stopped! I’m into romance, fantasy and horror. I’m currently reading Fairy Tale by Stephen King, and can’t wait to chat and make friends on here for more recs!
Happy to be here. :)

message 1008: by EdRafael (new)

EdRafael | 2 comments I everyone 😊 the name's Ed, I'm a translator + literary editor + wannabe author that's been in love with reading since... well, since forever.

I haven't been reading much these past few years, but I'd like to go back to this passion of mine once more. Reading has helped me get out of a depression before, I'm hoping it will do it again, but my free time is not much, and, if I'm being honest, I'm too lazy to pick up a book most days.

I hope to make some new friends while I'm here. I'm making an effort not to ghost goodreads and actually getting back to reading, but I can't promise I'll be very active in this group.

message 1009: by creativitea ☕️ (new)

creativitea ☕️ | 1 comments hey everyone, i love reading (hence why I’m here) and my favourite genres are fantasy, dystopian and romance. I do love a thriller from time to time too :) I’m currently reading the shatter me series and am already obsessed (warner’s pov changes everything)

in terms of tv shows I love kdramas but I haven’t watched many, am a lifelong tvd stan (damon and klaus are superior) and my fav kdrama is doom at your service/my demon. hope to have fun in this group 🙃

message 1010: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay Troesch | 2 comments Hello fellow book lovers!

My name is Lindsay. I live in the Bay Area in California. I recently got back into reading last year and completed 90 books when I set out to read 40. I guess I like to read:) I have explored Audiobooks the past few years and recently started using Kindle. I do like physical books, however I find listening to books helps doing most other things enjoyable. Since getting back into reading, I have watched far less TV, which I don’t miss. I read all genres but my favorites are mystery/thriller and fiction.

Other hobbies and interests of mine are hiking, photography, puzzles and knitting. I enjoy going to concerts and traveling. I’m an extrovert and love meeting new people.

I’m excited to be more active on Goodreads and join reading groups to meet new people.

message 1011: by Leigh (new)

Leigh (tacks4snacks) Hi!! I'm Leigh, 15, he/they, very new to goodreads but i really like it here!! Right now I've been reading the Hannibal series (just finished Red Dragon, just started Silence of the Lambs) and I'm about to start Interveiw with a Vampire :)) I'm very into horror/thriller, with a touch of YA and regular old fiction. My favorite book in general is probably The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but if you asked me in the moment I'd probably say it's Red Dragon if that makes sense. In terms of TV shows, right now I'm into Hannibal, Community, Percy Jackson (books too), and Criminal MInds :)

judas bone | 1 comments Hello everyone!

I am Judas Bone. I go by he/him and in my mid 20’s.

I enjoy reading and love gothic/horror, poetry, mystery, and crime genres (also enjoy manga!) I am not a big fan of romance or YA, but don’t mind writing that type of genre. Junji Ito, and V.C Andrews (both original and ghostwriter) are my all time favourite authors.

At the moment, I am working on small game projects at home, and going back to school in 2025. Haven’t decided on what courses to take yet (leaning on something with literature.) I hope to become an author one day :)

message 1036: by Carl (new)

Carl Reads (carlreadsbooks) Hi everyone! I'm Carl (obviously) and I discovered GR in 2023. Since then, I have been including books I have been reading in English (Portuguese is my native language). I have always enjoyed reading, but had a disconnect during my academic studies. Anyway, I started reviewing eARCs since 2024, and enjoying sharing my thoughts and discovering new books and insights and people.

I can read any adult fiction and nonfiction if interesting and well-written, but I gravitate towards a more literary style of dystopian, horror, contemporary (specially women's and queer fiction). A book has to entice some curiosity in me; great characterisation and possibly development; plot is optional. I love a good grey or unlikable character, and stories that makes me uncomfortable (but it must have a point of view). But hey, I'm not all that serious. I love a good sharp satire and high fantasy (I'm a Tolkien and Bradley child), whimsical Japanese literature and manga and anime. In summary, I like many books and the art and form of literature. I like to think I'm welcoming and kind, but a bit shy. So feel free to add me, send messages or comment in my posts!

Hi Carl, and welcome! (I'm not a mod, just a participant like you 😄). I'm a multi-genre reader too, and particularly like women's and Queer fiction too! (Alongside a healthy dose of YA and easy reads hehe)

Massive child of Tolkien here too yay! It takes a bit of getting used to, working out challenges and buddies etc but everyone is super friendly

message 1038: by Carl (new)

Carl Reads (carlreadsbooks) Hi Ellen (or perhaps Arwen is more appropriate!), thanks for your message. I’m already feeling very welcomed. I’m looking forward to chat more with you all. Xx
Ps.: oh, I posted my favourites of each month. There might be some interesting women books XD

message 1039: by M (new)

M | 2 comments Hey all, I'm Monique and found this group today while searching through discussions on Leviathan Wakes.
I saw the thread is restarting (I just picked up a copy from my local library) and realized there's a lot here that peaked my interest!
A mood reader to my core, I'll try any genre.
Past reads that set the bar for me would be N.K Jemisin's The Broken Earth trilogy, I need a love level equal or greater than Jamie and Claire of the Outlander series and man oh man, do I love some Pillars of the Earth level historical fiction.
Anywhoos - hope to join in more and I get the lay of the land here :)

Happy reading!

message 1045: by MsNashi (new)

MsNashi | 1 comments Hi! So this is my brief introduction.
I’m Anna. A mother of two and a teacher from Sweden who just started reading again this year. My pacing is good, but better if I’m being challenged.

One of my students, a twelve year old hockey-loving boy dared me to finish 40 books before summer break - and I did it! It was brutal.
I was rewarded with a shrug. He hadn’t even opened his “Fellowship of the Rings” all year long.

I guess I realized I should only read to impress myself.
So that’s what I do now.

I love thrillers and suspense, just discovered Grady Hendrix! I also like classical horror like The exorcist and Rosemary’s baby.

In Sweden we have a reading challenge for grade 4 in the fall, Läsutmaningen, and I plan on acing that with my students. And here I go again with the challenges…

Well, have a nice end of summer and hopefully your reading goals get more splashes than mine.

Amanda Edgar | 44 comments Hi everyone! I'm Amanda (or Mandy). I'd love to have some more Goodreads friends. Since there's no way to connect your contacts and find friends that way, I'm always struggling to find people. I haven't been reading (for pleasure, at least) much in the past year due to being in a doctoral program, but now that that is slowing down, I'm excited to have time to read for fun again.

I also love participating in book clubs and group reads so I'm always down for that if anyone is interested!

Feel free to add me :)
