Lullyweb | 4 comments Hello, I'm trying to add The Mist in the Mirror by Susan Hill. I cannot find an existing edition on GoodReads that has my cover so went to add a new edition. However, it said the ISBN 13 was already in use but with a different cover. Should I add a new edition with my cover and add a note saying it's an alternate cover of the ISBN number? (To add to my confusion, on my copy the two ISBN numbers above and below the barcode are the same and both 13 digits long.)

Many thanks.

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 2400 comments Lullyweb,

That's exactly what you should do. Add the new edition with your cover and put the ISBNs in the book description field and note that the edition is an alternate cover for that ISBN. Then combine your edition with the other editions of the book.

Are the two 13 digit ISBNs for paperback/hardcover? (I wouldn't worry about that, but do note the ISBN in the book description field.)

Lullyweb | 4 comments Please could you check I've followed your instructions correctly? ISBN is 9780099284369

Thank you

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) | 2400 comments Lullyweb, Using the ISBN to search will show the edition you saw, not the edition you entered. A link to the edition you entered and combined is what would be most helpful.
