So this is supposed to be a kinder, gentler jihad? Whoopie shit.

Okay, say they overthrow Gaddifi, then what? Impose their own brand of Sharia all over Libya, and perhaps parts East and West of Africa?

David (bowsertheturtle) yea, i don't know, just thought it was interesting is all, after taking tons of classes about the crusades into the modern middle east and Islam though i said and still agree that terrorism doesn't equal Muslim at least some of the culture/people definitely have it them to conquer the world, the danger is that there is no separation of church and state, but i guess that the argument can be made that it isn't really possible to begin with..

Trish (bowedbookshelf) Hey, thanks for finding that article. I thought it extremely interesting. One would have to assume that different threads of islamic belief/jihad existed but how the majority coalesces about a different thread is still a mystery. It can't be at the barrel end of a gun, can it? Certainly an individual champion can matter. The paradox of individual action still puzzles me: that while the individual cannot be responsible for the good or the evil in the world, it is only individuals who are responsible for growth, change, damage, cruelty, destruction.

hmm ..It's a bit complicated to put in a sentence. Islam is rather relative and absolute. it has a set of basics which are flexible, and some people interpret that to whatever they see fit, and force it on people, just because they can.

they're not planing to overthrow Gadaffi, ..well at least for now. from what i read, they're just "updating/re-defining" their books. so this is suppose to be a good thing (yaay?)
I'm surprised they're getting support.
