Mandy (jsygurl) I notice some people are reading books over a 2009/2010 year - but what about those who are not, do you begin a new topic in 2010?

I was going to start a new bookshelf in 2010, and designate the "new" challenge in that way. I had planned on being "booked out" and finish all of my reads by the end of December. Then start fresh in January but this might be tough.

Mandy (jsygurl) You could be left with a reading gap - not a pleasant thought!

Tim Weakley | 396 comments Haha...well there will be no gap! I'll read phone books or something....chinese food menus...Christmas cards!

Something will be done. ;)

Mandy (jsygurl) I've had a look at your books Tim - you've read 50 books since June. How many are you focusing on for your challenge next year?

Tim Weakley | 396 comments Well...52 for the year so far. I'm thinking 60 for next year but that might be tough! I might have to make sure that none of them are thicker than my finger or something ;)

Mandy (jsygurl) I have some real thick books lined up for next year. I get a bit worried when I look at them, so large and imposing on my bookcase. But hey - if I don't make 50 - I don't make 50. No-one's goning to die or anything!

I try and make sure to alternate "tomes" with easier to lift works! If it could kill a small animal in falling then it's too big to lug on the bus and read. Right now the bus book is Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. At 112 pages it's very manageable.

Carol Neman | 469 comments Manda, I have been making comments in Goodreads for some time (maybe 3-4 months) and keep thinking I'm going to get my reading list together, but haven't done it yet. Now that it's almost December, I think I might wait until the New Year to start that comittment in earnest. In the meantime, I still have to get that pesky 2009 backlist in order...so little time, so much to read...Welcome to Goodreads!
