What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I know the cover was green. The main character, a boy, went to a yard sale at this old, dead man's house and bought a box with stone figures in them. He shows them to his sister, and by accident the figures get wet. The figures come alive. The figures were: a wolfman, a vampire, some sort of medusa, and a couple more I don't remember. The figures tell the kids that these aliens are trying to make a army or something. The kids and the monsters go on this journey. They go to an underwater world, and a place were their are ghosts of the people that have died. At the end the boy gets trapped in one of the aliens body, but he takes over it and stops the aliens.

Anyone know this story?
