bugging me! Dallas is in a nasty mood. she and Peabody are at a scene and Peabody tries to make light of Dallas mood and tries to disperse the crowd and says something like " Nothing more to see here folks. Move along".

Anyone know what book that's in please???

message 205: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1038 comments Portrait in Death? Dead girl in recycler? Peabody doing crowd control... then she hauls Nadine in for questioning... ? Sound familiar?

message 206: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes and no. I want to say she was miffed at Roarke at the time but I may be way off on that. I will look through Portrait though and see. Thanks Sara

message 207: by [deleted user] (new)

oh and Peabody gives a grin to Dallas and says "I always wanted to say that." and Dallas doesn't respond.

message 208: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1038 comments I remember her saying that!! No idea if it was Portrait though. I was just throwing that out there. It would be near the beginning though... first death, I believe, is the one I was thinking of. She's so often miffed at Roarke though! It could be any book! :)

message 209: by Sheri (new)

Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments that was the first death in Portrait...that was the book where Summerset fell down the stairs and Eve was upset that he wasn't leaving for his vacation. Nadine called and told Eve to meet her at a specific location...Her mind was on Roarke she wasn't really mad at him more worried...When peabody arrived Eve told her to disperse of the crowd

message 210: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1038 comments Oh, right! That's what it was!

It's Calculated in Death. Kid's name is Chuckie.

message 218: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (ezepeze11) | 582 comments Okay, not sure if there's a thread for this book, but did anyone UNDERSTAND the whole concept of the audits and the multiple businesses in Calculated in Death? I had to reread a lot. I know that there were four guys in on it (not giving, names, for spoilers) but how they were connected I don't understand. How did Eve find some of the random firms that she went in to talk to, like Alexander and Pope, and the one made up of women who organize things? And I have basically NO understanding of what in audit is or does. I really liked the chasing the killer etc. scenes of this book (like I always do) but as for connecting the dots on the why etc I feel like I struggled a lot.

Still gave Calculated a 4 out of 5 though.

I'm an ex-accountant so it was crystal clear to me:) Unfortunately, it may have been confusing to others without this kind of background.

For those who have not read Calculated in Death, STOP!!!!!

(view spoiler)

I don't know if any of this helps you but....I hope it's clearer than mud:)

Maureen | 5 comments I am enjoying this thread. I thought I knew my Robb titles, but y'all are GOOD!

these last few posts about Calculated in Death make me feel better. I just read it for the third time and finally made sense of who was who. I think I will start her next book (out in Feb 2014!!!) with a notepad besides me.

Nice to meet other loyal "Robb"land.

I belong to a site called Shelfari, which I similar to Goodreads, and they allow you to populate the character list with descriptions for every book. There was no way I could have kept track of this story without it.

message 224: by Nikki (new)

Nikki | 79 comments Hey Guys, any one remember the book where Eve plans a romantic dinner for Roarke?

message 225: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
Yes! One of my most favorite scenes in Witness in Death.

message 226: by Nikki (new)

Nikki | 79 comments Oh Thank you so much Jonetta! I had been searching for that scene all day. I thought it was in Holiday in Death. Searched the whole book thrice. I'll go read it right away :-)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
Enjoy! I've lost count of how often I've re-read that scene.

message 228: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments Read and read and read...I think that is my favorite love scene.

message 229: by Nikki (new)

Nikki | 79 comments Yes mine too! Can't get enough of Eve and Roarke <3

message 230: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 1576 comments I had a hard time with Calculate too. Didn't like it the first time I read it; second read was better.

message 231: by Nikki (new)

Nikki | 79 comments Hi again, I have one more question. There is this conversation between Eve and Summerset I remember the gist but can't recollect the dialogues or the book name. Eve is not feeling well or is hurt and refuses to take any medicine and fights with Roarke. Summerset comes and tells Roarke that he will give her medication and then tells her how it hurts Roarke when he sees her in pain. Kind of a lecture I would say. If only I could remember more... but I can't! Does anyone know which book it could be from?

message 232: by Azleen (last edited Dec 28, 2013 05:14AM) (new)

Azleen Hi Nikki..i believe the scene is from Seduction in Death..where Eve is down with fever n flu bug..and being she usual unreasonable self when in comes to medication. Summerset asks for a few minutes alone with her..

'What he feels for you overwhelms him, Summerset began. There was never anyone else. The women who came and went before you were diversions, temporary interests. He might care, because despite everything that was done to him, he's a man with a large capacity for caring. And still, there was no one before you. Don't you see how he worries?'...

message 233: by Sheri (new)

Sheri Morell (smorell22) | 2165 comments I loved that scene with summerset

Thank you, Azleen!

message 235: by Nikki (new)

Nikki | 79 comments Thank you, Azleen! Just read the scene again. There are so many. Scenes that touch your heart and you would like to re-read again and again butits just so difficult to remember which part was in which book. Thank god I have you guys to answer all these questions. Otherwise I might go crazy trying to find it ;-)

Nikki, we have a group full of In Death savants. I don't know what we'd do without them:)

message 237: by Maggie (new)

Maggie | 1576 comments I have taken to putting notes on the inside cover with scenes I really like and the page it's on. Like Nikki, there are scenes I love to re-read, but with so many stories sometimes it hard to remember which book it's from.

message 238: by Nikki (new)

Nikki | 79 comments Thats a good idea Maggie! Will try that one.

message 239: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) | 1038 comments I need to re-listen to Calculated, too. I got lost in the jargon a lot, too... And I couldn't keep all the characters straight. I was like, "Who is that? HUH? WHAT??" *shrugs* I usually just listen to Treachery over and over... it's maybe my favorite...

message 240: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
If it is at all helpful, I created a character list for Calculated in Death on Shelfari. I could include it in the book discussion in this group or just the link to the Shelfari page, whichever you prefer.

It's one of the biggest casts I've seen for an In Death book and the most confusing.

message 241: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
That would be really helpful, Jonetta. I'd love to see something like that for every book!

message 242: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
I'm adding them to the book discussion pages for each book. I've set them up as spoilers so the list doesn't take up so much room and you can view or hide as needed (no spoiler info included, though).

I'll routinely start adding the lists over the next few days.

That's an incredibly nice thing to say. Both Sandra and I marvel at the wonderful members comprising this group. You make our roles fun.

message 247: by Azleen (new)

Azleen ..3 cheers for the moderators!!

i love that i found this group..i too love rereading certain scenes but with the In Death series there's so many books that it gets frustrating when u cant recall which book its from...

like now..i'm remembering this scene i think it's pretty early in the series but after the marriage..where Eve just sorta burst out in i love you Roarke declaration..Roarke was completely staggered by it..it wasn't something Eve did unprompted at this point i think...i just love love love that scene!!!

but which book? helppp...

message 248: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
That would be Rapture in Death.

message 249: by Azleen (new)

Azleen aaah..yes, that's right..thanks a lot Jonetta!!

message 250: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments OMG...I love that whole scene. I sometimes forget scenes until someone mentions it, or I re-read lol.
