My attempts to combine them resulted in a message that as a Goodreads author Rigler was in charge of changes to her page.

Note: My attempts to combine involved adding Viera to the first link, not attempting to change the actual author's page in any way.

Please combine the two author pages. Thanks

The way this occurs when one of the authors is a GR author is to change the name on the book edit page which assigns the books to the correct author profile

I can merge them (and did).

Well, it's actually a GR-employees-only thing, although there is a workaround that all librarians can use, which Paula was describing.
